Very nice dude, I'm very interested in how this one goes, using mini fissidens was an idea that I had for those bonsai ornaments. I think this one will look amazing when it grows in, should look like a real tree in a few months :victorious:

Did you dry start this one or just tie the Fissidens on the plates? :encouragement:

thanks mate, im actually going to use only 1 type of moss in each tank and each tree will be covered in it when i finally finish.

Just let you know squiggle, mini fissiden is very hard get. Especially in large amount.

Awesome dude, I can't wait to see the various results of all these tanks. Secretly hoping that the mini Fissidens one looks the best though :victorious:

Can anyone give me an idea of size with both mini and normal fissidens? I have some but I'm not sure what type and magnified Internet pics aren't helping :/

there is a huge difference between the 2.

both are still small but mini has super small leafs, normal has 2-4mm spines (dont know name)

ill try to take a macro of the difference tomorrow for you..

One way to know the differant is mini or Sydney fissiden will grow vertical. Moss will point straight up. Us fissiden is larger and longer so the moss leaves will curl and point to the side or if overgrown then point downwards.

UPDATE ;)

These are the tanks i now have partially completed.

The soil i have gone with in these racks is CAL AQUA LABS BLACK EARTH PREMIUM

I started out just testing this soil as i do with all products i sell, and was actually so happy with it and its ability to grow plants

that can be moved around freely without creating a dust storm.

I have never really been into plants as every time i tried to grow them they died or created to many problems in my shrimp tanks when i removed or moved them around.

But now im loving it :)

I setup CO2 running in 12 of the tanks so far using a 10kg CO2 bottle and a 12 way splitter :) pics coming soon.

these are the tanks i am happy with so far and are mostly complete.

i cant remember most names of plants sorry.

Looking great Dean the plants look very green and healthy. Wish I wasn't scared of the whole CO2 thing I will just stick with the mosses and Java Fern for now. That soil looks good too, does it have buffering for the shrimp?
