Suggestions for Extra Java Moss ?

Featured Replies

Hi !

I have a ton of extra Java moss that I got from a lfs near me. I covered all of my driftwood already and made some stainless steal mesh carpets with them.

What else should I do with them ? Can I just leave them free floating in my tank ?

Thanks for any suggestions !

I have seen moss backgrounds (walls) where the whole back is like a huge moss mat, or once as my tank was so small I made some shelves from moss which I attached with suckers and the shrimps (especially adolescents) seemed to like that.

those shelves sounds like great ideas.  Any pictures to share ?

Unfortunately I didn't get around to taking photos as that tank was superseded quite quickly as it was so small. You can see how it is done and what it looks like in this video, obviously the back or sides are the best place so you can't see the suckers :

I also bought these for my betta tank which are similar except a piece of wood with moss on but using a sucker again, these should be easy to make yourself;
