Shrimp Aquascape with Seiryu/Ryouh

Hi all,

Not sure which category this would fall under but,

i am planning on doing an aquascape with seiryu/ryouh stone for CRS/CBS.
I have read that these stones will raise pH levels.

I have a tank already for FISH with seiryu/ryouh and the ph is 7.6+

Should i be safe and avoid using these stones overall and just stick to driftwoods and mosses?

Thanks,

Kevin.

Also, If it helps.. i will be using cal aqua labs substrate.

Avoid using these stones, if you don't want to keep battling to keep the right parameters.

I did the same thing, BEP and Sieryu. It was chaos in the end. People tried to warn me on here but I didn't listen. Avoid it if you want bee shrimp. ?

ADA Dragon Stone? A quick search says it's OK. Quick way to confirm is dip in some vinegar. If it fizzes, it's bad news. If it doesn't fizz, you're good to go ?

Dragon Scale or Ohko stones are said to be inert due to it's hardened clay properties. So it's a better choice for a shrimp tank.

But as with any stone, always test it in a bucket of water to make sure the pH, GH, KH and TDS do not rise before committing them in your tank.
