HELP! Dying shrimp

ShrimpDuck

Recommended Posts

I've had three shrimp die in the last couple of days in my blue body carbon rili tank.

Deaths have occurred since a small water change on Monday.

Parameters are as follows:

PH: 7.6

Ammonia: 0

Nitrite: 0

Nitrate: 5

GH: 107ppm

KH: 53ppm

TDS: 160

Temp: 22 deg

All other shrimp in the tank look fine, and all shrimp in my three other tanks are also fine which were water changed at the same time.

I understand they can have shedding issues after a water change, but after coming home to my favourite big blue girl dead today, I'm really upset and hoping there's not something I'm missing.

Thanks for any help!

Got any photos of the dead shrimp ?

Cant remember the appropriate gh and kh levels but for some reason it appears as yours are very high i could be wrong though.

Didn't take any photos unfortunately. The first two that died had been partially eaten by the other shrimp, but the big girl today looks perfect as in colouration etc. couldnt see any visible signs of anything

the Kh & Gh reading is in ppm, so divide by 17.9.

Which gives us

GH = 6

KH = 3
