I'll be bringing short canoe rods & a couple of normal rods, I've got about twenty, I know it will be overkill for a boat but I don't have any handlines, lol :encouragement:

Lol, we use to take friends out to the deep water when we were crayfishing. They were 20 miles off the coast and the first time would get a handline, with 2 pound sinkers and great big hooks rigged double, then swing the gear around in the air to get as far away as possible from the boat. We all had to hit the deck, as a big hook with a 2 pound sinker behind it could go in really deep. All this when we were drift fishing anyway?

Hahaha, my niece used to drop the line & as soon as it hit the bottom she would think it was a bite & pull it all back in & wonder why the bait hadn't been touched, hours of fun to watch, lol :applause:

Well here we are a week out from our get together cruise. I think it's time for me to give everyone some directions on how to get here.

My boat is at Hope Island Marina

cnr Hope Island Road & Santa Barbara Rd

Hope Island

Directions from Brisbane, Drive down the M1 and take exit no 57 ( first exit past Dream World) at the lights turn left onto Hope Island Road, ( From the South exit 57, next exit past Movie World veer right at the lights on the top of the ramp, Hope Island Road) you will need to pass through 5 roundabouts, On the 6th roundabout ( Big One ) swing to the left, about 100meters on the left you will see the entrance to Hope Island Shopping Centre enter here, Park anywhere around the edge of the shopping centre prefer over on the left DONT PARK UNDER SHADE SAILS 3HR parking restrictions apply! walk over to the marina on your right, when facing the marina descend the stairs to the pathway turn right and walk up to the last jetty gate call me from there and I will come and let you in and deliver you on board.
