OK, started playing with a Iwagumi scape earlier, not sold on this, kind of happy with it, but not quite sure.

What ya think?

Bottom right stone removed, looking at other left over stones to put in it's place.

It feels too spaced out.

Try moving the stones closer.

Have you tried putting the rocks so they all jut outward, or to left or right, instead of pointing to the centre? Might look crap but something worth mocking up.

No crap mate, I have been sitting here for the last hour moving rocks around, unreal, I've gone from 5, to 3, to 5 again, to 7... man this is hard, hard with a limited number and variety of shaped rock.

I bought two large glass bowls today at the local cheap store, I'd say about almost 20l each, am looking to put a small layer of ADA Amazonia in the bottom of each and plant some stem plants and have them grow and eventually grow out the top of the bowls.
I'm after some nice suggestions of stem plants to consider for these two bowls, some of the stem plants I will also use in making a Wabu Kusa as well.
At the moment I am thinking of the following stem plants:
Limnophila repens 'mini', Alternanthera reineckii 'mini', Hemianthus glomeratus, Ludwigia arcuata x repens, Persicaria sp. Sao Paulo, Rotala colorata, I am also looking at using Hydrocotyle tripartita 'Japan', Hemianthus callitrichoides.
Any opinions on these plants for a planted bowl?
Any other stem plants I could also consider?
      Cheers all.

OK, so I'm looking to do a hair grass carpet in a small Aqua One Horizon 35 tank, I'm looking to add 1 plant and 1 plant only to the tank, I'm going for a minimalistic look, so wondering which plant I should look at, thoughts are Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini', Crypt Wendtii, any other plants I should look at?
Also looking to kick this off as a DSM tank, so the plant must be able to be grown emersed.

Don't know about effectiveness on breeding, but additional oxygen in the water can't go wrong. It's probably better for overcrowded tanks.

Id put in maybe a liter or 2 of water (1cm of water in the tank) and put in a couple handfuls of substrate at the base just to help, the other substrate to them cover it which will have the main contact with your water allowing for the buffering effects (and the colour difference if there is one wont be noticed).

I currently have a small pipe heater in the current tank that i can use for the new one, that technically makes my new project cheaper because i now don't need 2. can i get dimensions of this thank fully assembled including the top cover just so i can determine if i need to adapt my shelving. i don't mind poking out a corner of the tank from the shelf so i can do water changes and i can lift the tank onto another surface for heavy maintenance if necessary. Im really just interested if there is space for feeding without moving the tank.

I add 5-6cm thick layer of soil ... ADA is ok to use.. should give you a ph at mid 6 range... I find the more you add the longer the soil lasts and the stronger base of the water their is as their more soil to Buffer the water... the ph will no go lower will say at mid 6 on ada but will last longer the more you add to a tank so less time changing it over next time  thanks connor
