I took some inspiration from @Disciple 's tank and bought some moss ledges. I do not put any stainless steel in my tanks at all as I am concerned about chromium, nickel and manganese ions seeping out of it in a vat of freefloating ions that we call tanks...I found metal-free 3D-printed plant ledges at www.aquakitz.com.au for $4 each ( Elevate Shrimp brand). They come in a printed resin that does not smell of plastic at all and is stable in water. I am extremely impressed with the large, robust, super-grippy suction cups- I do not think I have ever come across better ones. Will highly recommend to anyone looking for moss ledges.

so i just think, it's the time to put 1 floating plant each tank and compare them later i focus on the nitrate and how easy is it to grow, how faster it multiply journal will be finish in 6 months and no stem plant, i hate stem, no offence guys

I bought two large glass bowls today at the local cheap store, I'd say about almost 20l each, am looking to put a small layer of ADA Amazonia in the bottom of each and plant some stem plants and have them grow and eventually grow out the top of the bowls. I'm after some nice suggestions of stem plants to consider for these two bowls, some of the stem plants I will also use in making a Wabu Kusa as well. At the moment I am thinking of the following stem plants: Limnophila repens 'mini', Alternanthera reineckii 'mini', Hemianthus glomeratus, Ludwigia arcuata x repens, Persicaria sp. Sao Paulo, Rotala colorata, I am also looking at using Hydrocotyle tripartita 'Japan', Hemianthus callitrichoides. Any opinions on these plants for a planted bowl? Any other stem plants I could also consider? Cheers all.

OK, so today I started my emersed aquatic plant set up. I'm using a large storage container tub with lid, take away food containers, Fluval Shrimp Stratum. Plants are Alternanthera reineckii 'mini', Glossostigma Elatinoides, Weeping Moss, Subwassertang Moss, Acorus gramineus (sold to me as Blyxa Japonica) and have Hemianthus callitrichoides coming thanks to Neo-2FX, cheers mate. I'm not too fussed if I lose the Weeping Moss, Subwassertang and Acorus, but would really love to get the AR 'mini', Glosso and HC going though. Tub has been covered with cling wrap and then placed over with the tub lid. Anyway, here is a pic, tub will be misted each day.

Mum bought some plants for her Guppy tank and one of them I'm unsure of what it is, it was sold as Blyxa but I am certain it isn't, it's too upright and some what hard, unlike the soft, lightly bent leaf of a Blyxa, any ideas of what it is anyone? It's growing quite well and I actually don't mind it either.

Hopefully someone can help me out, i dont dose fertilizers in my tank for fear of it affecting my shrimp but i have noticed that one of my new Anubias emeral heart's leaves are starting to yellow and i have nfi what to do lol ultimately i want to balance the plant growth and shrimp health and thats the reason i went for the low requirement plants but obviously they are going to need something at least but what?

Am undecided in which plant I want to go with, I ordered a Hair Grass pack which consists of 5 Hair Grass pots, but am unsure if I want to go with it, should I do Glosso or HC instead? Thoughts? Should I just stick with the Hair Grass? Might be easier to deal with.

OK, so I'm looking to do a hair grass carpet in a small Aqua One Horizon 35 tank, I'm looking to add 1 plant and 1 plant only to the tank, I'm going for a minimalistic look, so wondering which plant I should look at, thoughts are Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini', Crypt Wendtii, any other plants I should look at? Also looking to kick this off as a DSM tank, so the plant must be able to be grown emersed.

When starting an emersed plant or DSM (dry start method), does the soil need to be wet, or doe it just need to be damp? Also, what kind of aquatic plants can be used in a DSM set? Bacopa, DHG, HC, HM, Glosso, any others? Can Crypts be grown emersed?

Can anyone let me know what these plants are? What is the best way to move them into another tank? I am a plant noob and dont want to melt these ones. Thanks in advance.

I'm after some plant and aquarium safe glue that I can use to glue some pieces of different Java Fern and Bolbitis to driftwood, could anyone suggest some, also could it be gotten online as I'm not exactly fully mobile at the moment, ha. Cheers. Is any super glue safe to work with when it comes to aquarium use?
