Tank Temperature Help

Don't forget, pumps from filters will also add a degree or two to the overal temperature.

Thanks for the tip.

I also set it up without thinking... does it matter if the heater is on the inlet side or outlet side of the filter?

Its currently sitting next to where the water gets sucked up. I can always change it around if its an issue. I had a look online and it appears it does not really matter but as always come to you guys for help!!

Outlet side is usually preferred, as the outlet pushes the heat around the tank and even distributes the heat.

I have mine in the sump in the last section with the return pump, same result warm water gets distributed around the tank. I also have a remote temperature sensor connected to a heat/chill controller. the sensor is in the middle of the tank between the return and the inlet so it gets a reading of the average temperature in the tank.
