Fine line between aquatic addict & sucker.....I'll lean towards more of a sucker, but it makes me smilie & happy ....LOL

Looking impressive BB.

Does anyone have suggestions as to how i can combat brown algae in a marine tank? I'm having trouble with it killing off my corals :(

Looks like you have space for at least a few more! Lucky clowns have lots of homes to choose from! :smileys-fish-465204:

This is an awesome looking tank, i love the way you take everything aquatic to the next level.

My tank is low tech so I can only dream of the corals you can add to this one.

Great effort as usual bb.

Moitoring the anemones reaction to the lights closely, to ensure they acclimatise well to it, and whether any adjustments to the lgiths is required.....just got it on factory setting ATM

Removed a major piece of live rock...tank settled, and creating more room for the anemones.....some dummy spits from the anemones with the new lighting, but please to say the tanks going extremely well, and anemones flourishing......a couple of anemones are hidden in the pics...

Since the removal of approx. 30% of my live rock (reduction in the biological filtration), my nitrates that have previously been undetectable, reached 20ppm  : SURPRISE : . Decided to rethink my filtration, and have made changes ...

1st Fluval G3

Chamber - Saechem Purigen

Tray 1 - Saechem De*Nitarte

Tray 2 - Saechem Matrix

2nd Fluval G3

Chamber - API Phos-Zorb

Tray 1 - Polyfibre Pad (Necessary ?)

Tray 2 - Eheim Media (Nitrate Trap ?)

Internal Juwel Filter

Activated Charcoal

Trying to avoid adding a de-nitrator.....after 3-4 days, nitrates still at 10 ppm. Have done approx. 50% WA over the days...

Any suggestions ? Interestingly, the anemones doesn't seem to be affected, in fact if anything, they look better with some nitrates in the water .....

Edited by BlueBolts

Have you had any thoughts about just filling the corner juwel filter with a bunch of rubble or base rock? If it was me i would fill all the trays of both G3's with base rock rubble as well as the corner juwel and use the G3's chem side to run rowaphos. ImO but if the coral are happy and algea is under control let it stabilise on its own.
