Those are awesome !!!! Wish mine would be similar to those :-).

Very cool pics dude, love those clowns & every time I see them I want to get some again! :encouragement:

Thanks guys! There are much nicer clowns to pick from than mine BB! The holey clowns are stunning, the holes in the white should go black as they grow. They're $225 a pair I think.

Day 10, and tank is maturing nicely....ammonia & nitrites down to zero, and nitrates at 30-40.... Emergence of life starting to take place now....

Very cool dude, life is a good sign when cycling marine, exciting times!

Nice salt tank bb

Looks like you may have some bryopsis in the right hand corner of the first photo. You will want to sort that out ASAP, it can be very very hard to control. I think elevating the magnesium levels can kill it.

Just reading about it....oh dear, & double damn ! Is it the hair or fern looking algae ? Can I zap it with H202 ?

Hi Marcus, it's the hair algae, age of aquariums sell a product that kills it, but I don't remember the name of it, maybe send them an email, i tried calling a couple of times but I didn't get through.

If your in a hurry I'm sure any decent marine shop will have what you need.

Cheers mick

I think some hermit crabs might take care of that green algae. You might want to pluck the brown version by hand.

Actually isn't bryopsis the feathery one?

Hi matt, thanks for the link I was told that bryopsis is hair algae, always good to learn more.

Just something else to look out for in sw as if they're wasn't enough already lol.

Sorry for that Marcus.

Cheers mick

Thanks, pleased with the redsea mature pro cycling kit to date. Researching in several products at the moment to promote stability and maturity......so many new products and claims...:-)

Nice damsel! Is he staying in long term?

Have you thought of having some seagrass in here? These anemones come from sea grass beds. Halophila ovalis is a very easy one to grow that stays short and neat. Happy to send you some if you would like :).

Also, not sure if you came across this in your research or not. A few marine critters are pretty sensitive to peroxide. Not sure if any of your planned stock is particularly sensitive to it but it may be something to double check if you want to dose it when you have the tank stocked.

The plan is to remove the damsel before the introduction of the anemones.....easier said that done huh, but, hats the plan.

Haven't thought about the Seagrams, thanks for the heads up. Been focusing on the cycle, and improving the stability of the tank. Thanks for the offer, may take up up on it....plan to have the anemones in, let them choose their spot, and once settled, I'll scape around them ?

Thanks for the peroxide info....only used it for 2 days before any inhabitants. Will read up more about it over the coming days.

Damsel's are a PITA to catch. I've decided I'm using a Molly rather than a damsel for the start up of the tank next time.

Are you planning on keeping the rock work all in the display then? The nems will put their foot down on the glass under the sand rather than use the rock work. Have you come up with a plan for when the anemones start to get large or to minimize their growth?

No worries, I'm fairly sure it's mainly shrimp and a few other inverts that are fairly sensitive to it.

Looking good mate! I'm adding the first stock to mine tomorrow (other than zoos, millions of turbos and stars ect lol). When is your nem coming?!

 • Author

I'll be putting the 1st tan nem probably in 2 weeks (WP pending), and will add the other within the proceeding weeks. Have already got the nems, and the seller will hold them until I'm ready. Will out the tan 1st, then green, blue, purple and red :-) plan to only deed them once a week to minimize their growth...... Haven't thought too much about them outgrowin the tank as yet, but will cross that bridge when it come :-)

No plans to remove the live rocks etc, will see how they sort themselves out etc....

Hey BB, what do you think I this? The nem is about 50 cent sized.
