Time to redo my 4ft tank. I'm sticking to only 2 or 3 plants this time. Stone is going to come out and cholla/driftwood is going in. The fissden will go as well in the new scape.

Current mess:

Nice, they look good as they are, I'm keen to see the new lay out!

Nice. What are the little plants that look like the crown of a pineapple? Do they grow tall? Do they require high light heavy ferts?

They are Pogostemon Helferi, one of my fav plants. I hardly put ferts in my tank and don't use CO2. Probably why my pogo's aren't growing as well as my previous setup. I do have a fairly high LED setup though with the red spectrum mixed in.

I'll be looking out for some to try when I get my tanks sorted. :-)

Just a word of warning, they aren't always cheap to buy and some batches seem to be more delicate than others. I've had one batch simply melt away as it couldn't handle my water parameters. I've had great success planting emersed grown ones though.

What sort of WP are yours in atm?

pH 8.2 - 8.4 and TDS of 195 - 199. I'm hoping with the move back to driftwood that my pH will drop a little too as my normal tap water is < 8, so not sure what is causing the spike in my tank atm. Can only assume it's the stone but that stuff is supposed to be inert, same with the gravel substrate.

As soon as I've finished with the kids karate runs this morning I'm to start migrating inhabitants from the RHS to the LHS and will commence rescape phase 1.

And it begins.

Most of the stuff cleared out and relocated to the LHS but still some natives to catch on this side. They are too damn quick. Might be easier once I drain it.

LHS looking a little full.

Any berried females in the metacube? Babies will get through that mesh size and you'll have heaps of fun finding them. ;-)

Yeah there probably are but they are going to another member Monday. I can't believe how many chocolates were on the RHS as well.

RHS pretty much done for now. Just need to wait for the plants to settle in. Might add some more pogo later.

And, thought I'd try some creative shots instead of the usual macros. Thanks for looking.
