How do you save your baby shrimp fry while cleaning?

Featured Replies

Hi I've been keeping shrimp for about a year now and I just wanted to find out how everyone else cleans the tank without throwing away babies?

I siphon an icecream bucket of water out then sit it under a light and fish out any fry with a syringe. Have any of you got different/better strategies?

Here is my 30L 'jungle' tank I've got RCS, Red Rilli and there was three Caridina Spp that have recently had babies I kind of scaled it to start with but I've gradually added things until it went wild.

I personally dont have any specific methods other then putting the gravel vac into the soil and moving it tends to scare them away. I have lost plenty being sucked up though lol
