Hey everyone! Been awhile since I've had the time to post actively on this forum but i was just wondering if anyone knows if an airstone or a venturi attachement (like the Eheim power diffusor) is better for a shrimp tank? I kinda already have a canister filter that I can easily hook up the attachment to but im just wondering if theres any difference between the two? TIA! P.S I already have a sponge filter running but ive heard that increasing oxygen content in the water could improve shrimplet survival rates

Hello everyone! First time poster, long time lurker. Its time to start a shrimp tank after a while of being out of the fishkeeping hobby. A friend of mine just gave me her like-new 12gallon JBJ nanocube. I was wondering what i should do for the filtration? Should i just stick a screen over the opening to the overflow so the shrimp cant get in? Should i take the fale wall out and try for a HOB/canister filter mod? also, would the stock pump be too much water movement? thank you for your time!

Howdy all; I have revamped all my tanks. Ihave now new setups with 40 and 60 liters tanks. The 40 liters have a led lighting, no cover, and a filtration with bio-chemical round sponge filter with air bubbles. The 60 liters hav also Leds lighting, covers, and a top filter. I have noticed that the 40 liters are cooler than the 60liters, about 3-4 °C less, which is intersting. I do believe that's because the biochemical sponge is bubble air driven and doesn't need an immersed pump. This is probably because there is no pump inside the tank, so no heat source, that the 40I are cooler. What d'you think? I think about getting rid of the top filters and putting sponges filter in the 60 liters too. Though, would the sponge filters be enough?
