Your all to funny :)

I think a monthly comp based on most "thanks" or "great post" is

Probably the best way to go as it motivates good threads instead of many post about nothing ;)

I'll try and work out something soon.

That sounds much fairer because really who can compete with Squiggle and Me !!!!!!! We both have too much time on our hands:triumphant:

It's hard to get a thank or likes when you post some things . I think people are afraid to show their feelings:encouragement:

Torface that wasn't for you I was paying Fishmosy back he was the one that thought I would be winning!!!!! I didn't take your statement or his as offensive in the least. I thought it was funny that Fishmosy was having a little funny go at me in the nicest way though- he generally is a bit quiet:cheerful:

Actually I have been a bit quiet lately. Been taking my role as a mod seriously, meaning I do far more reading than posting. You'll notice Deans post count drops away too as things happen behind the scenes. So much reading, so little time....

It's a sad world when the most friends you have are on a forum , I talk to the dogs but even they walk away from me now:(

Haha we are sorry sad sacks aren't we. It's a bit hard to have a lot of friends when you work away or do shift work. I still have a very close friend from grade 7 but she still works. My work friends were just that we had a great time but didn't socialise outside of work except for the odd dinner . I'm also a limited in what I can do so this is the best thing that could have happened for me to find the forum- unfortunately you all have to put up with my prattle:D

BB is far more deserving of the shrimp god title than me. That said I think I have him beat on native shrimp only because he doesn't keep many (or any?):victorious:

I have loads of friends, but they're all on the other side of the world. It's just my boyfriend and me. It is sad, but that's the price you pay for living on the other side of the world and working FIFO. :( it doesn't help that we just relocated to a different part of the country where we know no one. I find it's harder to make new friends as you get older... people are less open to having a new person join their world. I'm working on it though :)

Never mind I was brought up with no relatives in Australia-I come from Holland- I didn't miss what I didn't know and now there is always someone at the end of the line almost anytime of day. It's all what you make of it. Hubby and I are loners even when we go away we try to camp away from other people but they always gravitate to us:D

Don't know, but I know I am! Woohoo!

The Shrig isn't a god. He is the Shrig.

One interesting thing he mentioned was "Bacteria pressure", which I guess just means number of bacteria around.  Yet I see all these other videos from shrimpkeepers bragging about how much bacteria their filtering system holds. Also interesting is no mention of using anti-biotics to treat bacterial infection.  I think that has fallen out of favor recently.

It has been a few weeks now and I have done a couple of large water changes. I tested the water parameters this morning, GH6 and KH2, TDS 140 and PH 7.5. Obviously the PH is off but there isn't anything in the tank that should cause the PH to rise to this figure so I will just run the tank for another month with 10% weekly water changes (probably just with RO water) and see where we are at that point. The RO water tests at PH6, and the KH and GH in the tank could come down as they are at the upper limits for Caridina shrimps! There are only about 10 very small snails in there at this point, but they seem to be doing well enough.

I believe these to be very rare in Australia so you may even consider making it a longer term plan and produce your own by starting with the best CRS you can get as that is where the pure lines started! Depends how patient and interested in the project you are, but would save money as well? If I recall correctly it takes from 8 generations of selective breeding? They sell them at micro aquatic shop but do not ship to Western Australia, but that means they are available in Australia. https://microaquaticshop.com.au/products/pure-red-line-grade-ss-shrimp Good luck and just maybe smeone on here may point you in the right direction or be able to supply you with some.
