Don't give up. We will help you sort this out. SKF is good that way. 

I think it would help if we knew what GH and KH is.

Get your water tested at a LFS, or buy a GH/KH kit.

From experience, the majority of deaths are from moulting problems. 

Yes, there are diseases, but that is not as common as you think it is.

While you are testing your tank water, it is a good idea to get a baseline indication of your tap water parameters. pH, GH, KH, and TDS. 

Tapwater has a lot of unwanted dissolved solids in it that contribute to the TDS measurement. But it is certainly not going to be 200+. So you might be adding too much minerals. A GH measurement here will confirm it.

Also, do you have an open top tank (lid less)?

If you do, I recommend turning it into a closed tank, add a glass lid. It reduces evaporation and it will assist in reducing water parameter fluctuations.

Hi Jay

I don't plan on giving up and SKF members have been very supportive. Hence why it's the best shrimp site anywhere

I will be away for a week soon and when I bet back I will check the gh/kh

The water pipes are actually old galvanised pipes
