  • Well, the happy dance has come out again! Spotted this girl today & this means she is carrying F2 babies, sooooooo exciting!!

  • That's what I'm excited about too, it'll be interesting to see their patterns & if it's possible to improve the colour.

I forgot about this thread, I have seen about eight so far & they have a lot more colour than the parents. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few maco shots of them in the next few days, but work is pretty busy so might be a while. :encouragement:

Looking forwards to seeing the pictures, I love the little zebras, just a shame they don't seem to like me

Yes I was wondering how they were going too but realised you have been very busy lately. :)

Ok, so I finally got some time to get some pics of these illusive little shrimplets, they are about 3 weeks old now & starting to show some really nice colour potential, enjoy! :encouragement:

Awesome Squiggs they are very cute!

Congrats Squiggle! They are cute little critters, love their markings!

What water parameters are you keeping them in? I think I may have to start another tank!:cower:

Thanks everyone, they are very cute indeed! :D

I haven't been doing anything incredibly special for their WP, the main thing is to keep the TDS around 40ppm & I have been doing this with RO water & adding a pinch of SS Sulawesi 7.5, I remember when Ben did all the testing for these guys up in Cairns & all the other WP were varied, PH, GH, KH, etc, the one thing I did notice from his results was the TDS was always around the same, between 20-40ppm & that's all I have focused on with these guys. I have lost a couple but I've had a couple of girls berried & now they are berried again, so hopefully I'm on the right track. :encouragement:

Yes TDS for these guys was always low, even in sections where the water was cut off from the main stream. I found I had obvious problems with my zebs once TDS was >60 ppm.

Congrats Jay. Can't wait to see what you can do when it comes to line breeding these guys.

Whatever you've been doing, it's working!

Look forward to more shrimplet pics.

Thanks guys, I hope to strengthen the colour first then maybe(fingers crossed) work towards the colours of CBS or(now this is the one I'm really aiming towards) get their colours as good as Pandas & King Kongs! Aaahhhh just imagine an Aussie Native King Kong. jibdcb

1st dibs...LOL, i've given the zebs two tries and failed...well done squiggles...:-)

Wow! These guys are so tiny. Very cute indeed.

Well done Squiggs!

Very well done, I am green with envy since my attempts at these little darlings have failed.

They certainly are cute little shrimp and so pretty.

Thanks, it certainly has been a long journey & the results are definitely well worth it! :victorious:

LOVE the zeb's, Jay. how are they going, pic's, pic's, pic's.

They are going very well, should be at breeding age in a few weeks so hopefully there's more than a couple of females in there. Should be able to get some pics up in the next few days(got a busy weekend)

Congratulations! Those little shrimplets are sooo cute.
