Welcome to SKF @yd1, Awesome vids and pics. Very interesting to see other inverts, I've no experience with them but it looks like you've bought a wealth of information to the forum and can help others with their yabbies.

Welcome again :)

Thanks Jarad - I bought my first aquarium earlier this year, so I'm still very green but I'll try to help where I can. One advantage of being new to the hobby is I can still vividly remember all the mistakes I made along the way ?. So I may be of service in that area..

Adding natural untreated wood was a disaster

Choosing chalky rocks from the local creek because they looked good, didnt work out

Water changes and cleaning took a bit of getting used to

Creating escape routes and hiding perches for the smaller Yabbies took some deep thought

But I'm finally settling into a rhythm where the unexpected rarely happens.

It's all a learning process, there are shrimpers that have been going for years and even decades that are still learning. I think the learning process is one of the best parts of the hobby.

We can learn from our mistakes and those of others, thats one of the reasons SKF is great.

Keep up the good work, I'd love to see how your setup progresses over time :)

Yeah Now that youtube has put a copyright on just about every song ever made - I have to start searching outside the box for tunes that sneak past the filters?

The council kindly built a series of 4 ponds down the end of my street to filter the storm water run off.

I wondered how long it would take for Yabbies to get in there.....then I got sick of wondering?

Caution - some bad words

vids didnt load when I tried to embed - had to share instead

That was nice of the council to build you your own ponds.
