Thanks for compliments guys, I had a nice long watch of the mystery shrimp... It's got some blue around its body developing. Do you really think its a neocardinia hepotera Choc? Could it be a throw back from the yellows possibly crossing at some point? My yellows came from kingfisher on AL originally. Here I am still holding onto the hope its a tiger ;)

Awesome pics mate. Nice setup and beautiful shrimps.

sorry for being so quiet on here for a while, but i'm just laying low and trying not to jinx the fact that my shrimp seem to no longer be dying. it's been a few weeks now and no reported/spotted deaths.

saw the mystery shrimp yesterday... as it grows it's still changing, i'll try to get a pic asap.

That's great news Fox! Hope the tank has stabilised.

G'day...would be great if you could get a real close up shot of your mystery shrimps....I'm establishing a tiger breeding program, and if they are tibee, and depends on whether you have any specific plans for them, wondered whether you're keen to sell/trade ? Ta

Noooo....can be such a cruel hobby ! Any idea on the reason ?

Could be any number of things

Rookie mistake, yesterday was the first time into an aquarium store in a while and bought a slate with us fiss on it. Gave It rinse and put it in a satellite box then a whole later noticed planaria in the box. Dosed no planaria to whole tank to be safe. Death was about 24 hours later. Stay out of the game for a bit and you forget things.

Also could be from heat of last few days even with chiller temp climbed from stable 21 to just under 25.

On monday, After months of no water changes only auto top up of RO water with salty shrimp. I took out 15% and auto topped up aforementioned RO water.

I'm on the verge of shutting this down and starting over as my frustrations have led me to lose my shrimp keeping joy.

I have plans to shut down my 200L planted tank in the house and replace it with a nice 4ft ADA style tank and stand and make it a moss only (maybe a few low needs plants) shrimp/small fish tank. Maybe just Pygmy cories, ottos and my galaxy rasboras.

What do you guys think?

Nooooooo!!!!! Dont give up!!!

Noooo! You just need to step back, take a deep breath & think about what it is that drew you to shrimp, for me it's the array of colours available these days & breeding to strengthen these colours. I really hope you stick around cause every time someone gives up shrimp keeping a beer fairy dies, lol :encouragement:

Haha thanks for the vote of confidence... But I should clarify I don't want to quit just restart. Ill still have crs, red rilli and maybe yellows plus algae shrimp and my mystery shrimp. Tank will run full benibachi substrate as I have plenty already.

Phew! Good to hear dude :encouragement:

p.s. I love your user title, lol :encouragement:

hay Mr Fox, long time between drinks mate :) glad your not giving up!

i like the idea of a moss tank with small fish. cant wait to see the new thread
