When we upgraded from VB4 to VB5 we ended up in a world of pain despite the amount of testing that was performed. Some was related to members not liking change and others were due to some pretty big bugs in the software. Since then, I’ve move the forum of the VB platform and onto IPS v3.x. IPS have been busy working on v4 of the forum software and I’ve managed to get an early release to play around with. Unlike the previous upgrade, I’ve setup a blank forum on http://demo.shrimpkeeperforum.com/forum/ so that people can have a play around and see what changes are in the pipeline. Important things to note: This is not a live production site, treat it as a throwaway site (along with any threads/posts created) This is a very early release so not the complete product Things are probably still broken/incomplete No upgrade/migration path yet so it's simply a fresh new install with no data No SKF branding – it is simply a vanilla out of the box install No custom mods like the main site I'll keep upgrading it as updates are rolled out until I can do a proper upgrade onto the demo site with the current SKF content so that we can take a really good look at what's changed and how it's going to work. This new version is supposed to be mobile friendly which seems to be what a number of iPad users are wanting. We are still a long way off before we actually do the upgrade. This is a very early sneak peak. You will need to register and wait for me to approve the registration before you can log in and see what’s there. Any bugs or issues that you find can be reported in this forum so that I can follow up with the developers.
