  1. The substrate i am using is the ISTA Shrimp soil, first time i have used it in a tank. pH is about 6.4 gH 7-8 Kh 1-2 Temp 24 tds: 200-220 When i originally setup the tank, i made a newbie mistake of using seiryu stone in the scape. i have since changed over to honeycomb/ohko stone. over the last few weeks i have been trying to reset the influx in parameters due to the calcium carbonate in the seiryu raising them. it has been a very slow and gradual process to get it down as i dont want to do it too fast. It seems to be coming together though. I do use RO water and i have had a twinstar shrimp version running in the tank for just over a week now. since putting in the twinstar i have only noticed good things. in the corner of the tank i witnessed a few shrimp molt and the male shrimps run wild. it may be just a coincidence but it can only be doing the tank good. also, here is a tank shot, not the most ideal tank dimensions however :p

  2. Don't forget that we are on Facebook as well guys and gals. I use social media to give site updates if the site is down. A quick and easy way to get in touch if you can't get to here.

  5. Don't confuse banned with deleted. Banned members don't get deleted as we need to ensure they don't pop back up under a different alias. There is no negative behavior associated with deleted accounts. The exception being spammers, they are deleted but with the improved registration process, they seem to have died down.

  6. I have finally come up with a basic plan of how my auto water change system will be set up and have drawn up a schematic of how it should work for those interested in the technical side of it. The basic plan: The schematic: The bottom +240V line is the water pump for the tanks. All it shows is how at each stage of the water change it drops power to it so that is does not run at any time during the water change cycle. It may seem complicated but I am hell bent on making the water changes as simple to do as is possible. If any stage of the water change fails the system will stop which will make water on the floor impossible. The only work I will need to do is push a button, sit back on a stool and drink beer. Here are the measurements of the sump so far. Please tell if you can see any problems with it.
