Been a while since I posted in here. Currently running 3 racks but getting a bit too much with family/kids/work commitments. Finally decided to shut down this rack so it is now for sale if anyone is keen. I am in Brisbane. Send me a PM if you would like to view it. Also have heaps of other stuff for sale e.g. Biospon filters, Eheim 2213 and 2215, a few Hailea HC-250A chillers, etc. See my sale post here: Cheers, JC

I think that there are calcium test kits. A KH test kit may also be of use. But I'm not sure - jayc or someone else will probably know much more than I do on this matter.

In the second photo it looks like the shrimp was moulting. What's the calcium content in your water? The shrimp might've died because it couldn't get out of the shell (I don't know much about this, but I've heard about it happening before).

Wow, you went the same path with shrimp as I did in my first tank - less than 10 shrimp in a massive tank. Mine was a 110L haha. So hard to see the shrimp in there, and unfortunately they never bred for me. Hopefully you can get a colony out of those guys!

Sorry for using photobucket, i'll refrain from using that next time. I'll find a way to lower the temps by tomorrow, maybe i'll float some frozen water bottles or set up a fan next to the tanks. Thanks so much!

deaths was stop everythink was good and now start again, I think I'm doing everything right but I don't why shrimps is dying, my gh : 5, tds: 157, temp: 23 - 24 C, I'm using Ro water now, I have just mangrow, moss ball, moss, alder cone in my tank, I don't know what is wrong with my tank. I feed them every 3 - 4 days, and if there is left food I put out tank, so I don't think there is much ammonia, it's just shrimps and 3 ramshorn in tank. it's can be bacterial infection? but there is not look like something wrpng on them body. here is my shrimp after death, look like tail is empty and here is my tank:
