So I found two of these bugs in my shrimp tank does anyone know what they are? I also found some other things that look like eggs and I know they’re not from my shrimp, Maybe they’re from my Rams Horn Snails? If anyone knows let me know.

Hi all, this is my first post,i have 100l aquarium with fishes and 4 Amano shrimps inside. They are more than 1 year old. Yesterday i noticed something wrong with one of them, since the situation didn't changed in 24 hours i decided to take some photos and ask question here. Anybody has an idea what this could be? His front is red and i don`t see his claws/pincers at all. Thanks for help, Milos

Woke up to cloudy water in my tank for the first time in a long time. I thought BB but wasn’t sure. Fish seemed to breathing fairly normally, maybe the slightest bit faster. I thought maybe I filled the the tank up too high and there wasn’t enough oxygen getting into the tank? Would this explain the breathing? If it is BB, it will just fix in its own time, right? Thank you! I have lowered water now and there is a good flow now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It won't be 100% clear immediately. You will need to keep up with the water changes. 25% daily with gravel vac.

What doesn't come up? The link? Here is the link again. https://skfaquatics.com/forum/forums/topic/14893-i-understand-the-why-but-not-the-how-bacteria-bloom-solved-thanks/ Yes clean the filter media as well, but wash it in old aquarium water. As you are doing a water change, collect it in a bucket. All you need to do is give the hard media a rinse in this old water, and any sponge can be squeezed. That's it really, don't change it out for new media. The gravel is the most important here. It needs to be vacuumed. That is where most organic matter be.

That shrimp has grabbed onto a piece of food and is nibbling on it. Amano shrimp tend to do that.

For some reason it doesn’t come up? Also I’ve noticed it smells a bit, which is unusual bc I clean it every week. Do I need to clean the filter pads? Just worried about loosing bacteria really Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vladd22 recently posted about cloudy water as well recently. Beneficial bacteria doesn't float in the water column like that. Keep an eye on your pH, as that will crash the cloudier it gets due to the bacteria consuming nutrients and releasing lactic acid. If it is indeed a bacterial bloom, you will need to clean the tank well especially in the substrate with a gravel vac and do lots of water changes. The current tank inhabitants will need a lot of oxygen so plenty of aeration and water breaking the surface tension is needed. Have a read if the linked post for more ideas.

Looks like a Scud, no not the missile scud, the Gammarus Scud. Google it for a clearer picture and compare it to what you have. And those are definitely snail eggs.

To be honest it just looks like he’s eating something, considering the lines of bright red fecal matter through his body. I would say it’s exactly that if not for the fact that you said nothing changed in 24 hours. That’s a little odd, so keep an eye on him, but otherwise I’m sure he’s just eating something.

Hi, welcome to the forum! The eggs look identical to bladder snail eggs to me - a snail I think of as a blessing and a curse. They have a beautiful shell and a nice colour to their flesh, but they will take over a tank in a matter of weeks. This mostly happens when you have a surplus of food, algae, or fish/shrimp waste. Snails will generally self-moderate to the amount of food/waste in a tank (so they will die off if there is not enough, and keep breeding if there is too much). I hated these to begin with, and now I have found peace with my pest snails ? This is probably your only chance to get rid of them, now, otherwise you could be stuck trying to get rid of them for a while, with no results. In terms of the bug I have absolutely no idea. Jayc might though, he always seems to know ?
