Yeah they all still look really well though i kinda worry the molly could feel lonely. Im planning on selling some of the cherries and the brighter-colored culls to eventually get more tanks. Im also planning this april that i start a native tank to house the wild shrimp and who knows maybe i could actually make a new breed from them haha. Well for now i can say that i am very satisified with this forum

Hello folks, This plant has lived in a jar with nothing added for at least 6+ months before I set up my current shrimp tank, and it was fine. Then it grew for about 3 months since I set up this tank, and it was fine. I didn't dose much fertilizer, except maybe 1/5 to 1/10th the recommended dose of ThriveS, an all-in-one fertilizer. Thus nitrates always read at zero. I assume there is a tiny bit of nitrate from the decaying shrimp poop. So anyway, I leave for a 1 week vacation, and after I came back, I noticed that this plant is yellowing while the other plants are fine (moss, s. repens, MC, DHG). I think the very tips / new growth is still green, but the older leaves are yellowing and falling off. Most guides suggest a nitrogen deficiency, but there are many people who run planted shrimp tanks with no fertilizer at all and their plants are still fine. Plus my other plants seems fine, so maybe this is due to something else? The only things I can think of out of the ordinary is missing one week's worth of water change and very low fertilizer dosing.

yes, the light is on a timer. So that means the plants got less light while I was away since the other lights in the house were off.

2020 bump to ask if it is ok to use boiled fresh guava leaves? Or should I let it dry out on purpose, then boil? (But I think if I let it dry out it will turn brown, whereas the pre-dried ones I see for sale are usually green?)

You may still get some CBS if an adult CBS and CRS breed I believe? I got all sorts of taiwan bee colours/patterns from just red ruby and blue bolts mixed together, even blacks and none of the shrimp showed any black! Simon

That’s unfortunate. I lost one the other day as well. By CBS do you mean crystal black or brown?

Update: Lost a clutch of eggs, female molted and left them. She also passed a day later. Bummer. 3 other females getting close to dropping, so that’s good! Still yet to see a CBS baby or mix. cucumber day
