Gee, first time I’ve seen you totally stumped jayc! How big are these critters Steve?
  2. sdlTBfanUK
Very creepy! It could be a type of damselfly? Whatever it is I would whip them out post haste? Simon

Creepy! Thought they might be a fly or damselfly/dragonfly larvae.

That's how you know I'm not a bot. I wonder if it is a Brachycentridae (brachycentrid caddisflies) larvae, and it has got creative with what it's sheltering in. Look up pictures of caddis fly larva pictures and compare.

Update: Everything is going well, other than my breeding attempts with the apistogrammas. They haven’t shown any more intensive breeding behaviour. Water params are near perfect. Ammonia nitrite and nitrate at 0, gh 2, kh 1, ph 6.6... Crypts are growing back, which is great, and plants are doing well in general. Just removed an abundance of duckweed, now the tank isn’t tinted green anymore ?. Will be removing the apistos after Christmas, and getting the cory cats, neon rainbows and replacement endler. Can’t wait!

WOW! sorry but I don't know. Never seen one before.

Now you say, I can see it is greenish and I had forgotten you said you had Jades in that tank! It looks/sounds like you are pretty set now! I hope the older babies are now half size and still doing well, and you will soon have another load of babies to watch? Fingers crossed you get a brown one at some stage................ Simon

I uploaded a video to YouTube. I don't think it's a dragonfly or damselfly. Those have bulging eyes
