@MJQMJQ, I realise you are from Singapore, so just in case you need more info on Carvacrol (Oregano oil) ... https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=oregano+oil+carvacrol&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=oregano+oil You can buy this in liquid or capsule form. Make sure you pick the liquid form. Look in health food shops. In Aus, we have these health food shops that sell vitamins and organic foods. That's the type of shop I'd start looking in. They are not cheap. It's $40+ AUD for a very small bottle here. If you can't find it in local shops have a look online, the link above shows you what you should be getting. 86% Carvacrol or 65%. Hope that helps.

I think there is something wrong, had to press the submit button a few times, it doesn't register a click, and slow down, i'm using a company network, which block many things, so it should happen. I have a few crabs, they like to hide, so I lost count on how many I have. the last time I seen at one time was 6 crabs.

Im really wondering if the disease came along with the shrimp from the farms hmm.
  5. MJQMJQ
Errr I throw them away once I see them with the disease. In the later stages they move little and their gills work very hard. Thanks Im looking at buying fresh oregano leaves then putting in a glass jar filled as much as i can with the leaves and then boiling water to distill out the oil.It seems like I contained the disease for now no more new cases or deaths. It would probably be less pure but should be ok. Just one question:Wont the oil float on top of the water?I thought oils and water dont mix so how does it work? And thanks for the suggestion on oregano oil.I also didnt see any baytril or tetracycline at pharmacies.I think they're prescription drugs.

My tank, got rid of most of the algae when I went on holiday, left some on the rock because it looks nice. https://imgur.com/hf0FpLF

Thanks KMS, there may be problems with this forum as there seems to be some sort of 'attack' going on from over your way (started yesterdaay) so it is going very slow and Cesar is looking into it? Hopefully it won't cause too much disruption and people can still use the site, there were 600+ bogus attempts last time I looked......... Hope your crabs and snails are doing well! I had a delivery of some blue bolts, red steel, red wine shrimps yesterday and their colour is fabulous and I don't think they have died yet, saw all 5 red wines earlier???? Hopefully the tank is more settled now and it will be plain sailing from here. Simon

I have a zero water container, sdiTBfanUK recommended it, it contains 21 cup of zero water, after water is filtered the water goes into my 10 Litres reservoir for auto water top up for both my shrimps and cuora trifaciata turles, I only use it for top up in the turles tank, but for shrimps it is use for top up and when I do water change. I just use tap water for my turtles for water change, turtles product too much waste and I have to change about 60% of the water. So far I'm happy with the Zerowater, its still holding up with 000-002 ppm reading. I also use shrimp king liquid mineral to mineralize the water for the shrimps.

Fingers crossed these survive, but probably best to post pictures of them alive anyway!! The tank has been running for 6 months now so if this doesn't now work???????????????????????????? They all have lovely colour and came well packaged from shrimpcorner.couk Just drip acclimating the smaller batch at the moment? Simon

IF there is anyone out there that has/is using the ZeroWater jug would you mind replying to this thread with your reactions to it, so there is more than just my experiences on here for future reference should anyone else want to try using it? + or - welcome? I think there are about half a dozen people that were going to try SO FAR but some haven't been on here since and that is fine, I can assume that it worked in their case so they didn't need any further help etc??? Thanks for taking the time to anyone who does this! Simon

Here are a couple of pictures so you can see what I mean, it just isn't going as nicely as before? I can only assume it is the different substrate, still it will get there I am sure and the shrimps seem happy enough and the plants are very slowly growing and going a bit greener than they were. As can be seen in the pictures the shrimp are totally uninterested in the shrimp lolly (or spinach) at this point so I guess there is enough biofilm? It all looks a bit drab, uninspiring and unhealthy? I may remove the Java fern in the middle at some point as I do have another greener (quite small though) bit floating around in an old tank? Simon
