In purely mathematic terms if TDS200 is GH8, and that sounds correct, if you divide 200 by 8 you get TDS 25 per 1GH, again, about right with how mine calculates/runs. 5 (GH) times 25 (TDS) is TDS125 so would be perfect. Try remineralising just using the TDS figure, it will be much easier anyway, and the remineralisers are balanced for GH&TDS that the shrimp need . As JayC says you can try GH6 and that will be fine, mathematically that should come out at TDS150 - those are the figures at which my tank runs (checked yesterday and TDS158, GH6)! Simon

The grooved bottom of yours is a much better design, so that you can sit it on the edge/corner of the tank. The big gripper has a flat bottom but I sit it on the aquarium top and thread the pipe through the aquarium feeding opening so it works for me. It may be a little precarious perched on the corner, though it would work if you are careful. As you can see the other advantage is that you can hang it as well, so if your tank is in a unit with something like a shelf above you can just put a cup hook in that and hang it over the tank, that would be another alternative? They make 2 sizes, 2L and 4L (1US gallon). I don't think it really matters if yours is small as all you do is fill it up, come back later and put more in it if you are doing over the 1 litre. Sometimes I even have to do that with the 4L if I am doing say 5L change on Betta tank! Simon

I only got the small one because I only had a 16L tank at the time of purchased, but the larger size is large and more of a bucket, but the design is good, with the grooves to sit on the corner of the tank. The large one is 6000ml. I came across the big dipper in a flash, didn't realize what it was, but now I do, I was just thinking why zoomed called a container a big dripper.

OK, I went to the shop today, and taken some photo's, the small version is 1000ml, large one is 6000ml. The last photo is the small version. https://imgur.com/a/CSy2rZm

As sdlTBfanUK mentioned, try bringing TDS & GH up a bit. GH 6 and TDS 120-130, or around that. Your tank might be low on calcium.

I have this container with a tap/valve to drip water into my tank, it was made for this purpose, the bottom of the container has grooves for it to sit at the corner of tank I have a 1000ml one, but there is a larger version, I can't find a picture of it from the shops online store I purchased from, so I will take a photo of it when I get home. The same product can be DIY, and very easy with a bucket and a valve.

sorry butty i missed the part that your doing a drip for water change, ok another way around this short term if you heat the end of the pipe with a lighter then using a pliers aqueeze 2/3rds together that will seal the end if its not enough reheat and close a bit more

Unfortunatey my first attempt at building a drip acclimator failed as the sealant found lieing in the house didn't work properly and the device leaked. i have bought some non toxic sealant from the local b&q (hardware store) and have located a clothes peg to use until i can install a flow regulator. im going to do a 20% (for lack of a better term) fast water change using the jug i have today whilst the drip acclimator mk2 is setting. I will do this to 350TDS as recommended.

The TDS if it is 96 may well be the problem, the usual range is about 120-180? Mine is around 160! If the blacks at 119 are breeding then maybe try increasing the tds to at least that, but gradually over several days to a week? Simon
