Day two today! No dead shrimps, "obessively counting" them! (I should get over myself in a few months, too upset i guess) They are clearing the algae and biofilm real fast! Noticed this batch from the breeder are so lively, this is my first time buying from a breeder as opposed to a fish store. I just am so surprised at how lively they are. (Had thought they are very mellow in nature) On a side note, the video you introduced to watch, it was sponsered by dennerle i think? I bought a pack of shrimp king 5 leaf mix for them to munch on. Wow! They went even more crazy over it. Have noticed yellow neos are not so aggressive with food and are willing to share, crystals however, they fight over food? Dont know, but mine do :( Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

It is very wise to take it one day at a time with the new shrimps, hope they have all survived to day 2. Personally I would leave all the plants for now and just maybe make small changes or remove 1 small thing when you do some maintenance. They will like all the extra things to climb on and explore (and hide in, moulting, hatch babies etc) and I think biofilm will grow on the more surface area you have as well! I am sure they will be happier. You will need to keep on top of it, but you probably can see most of your tank from one angle or another? I know what you are saying about not being able to see any dead ones but you have quite a few in there so I personally wouldn't (and don't with mine, heavily planted) worry and just do a rough count. I NEVER see a dead one, but they must die, I assume the snails eat those, or the shrimps (not sure about that though)! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! Simon

At last, something I know I know, the drop test kits. I do all my drop tests by half drops, easy peasey, instead of 5ml of tank water (1st line on my testtube) use double water ie 10ml (2nd line on my test tubes) so each drop is a half. You can do quarters (each drop) etc same way, ie 20ml (or fourth line on my test tubes. This works for ALL droplet kits............ hope I have explained it properly, let me know if not and I will try again. Good luck with the rest of it hopefully someone else can help with that! Simon Looks like JayC and I posted at the same time. I always use www.pro-shrimp.co.uk as they have the best range, service and prices.
