I have had these guys now for a few months, I have been adjusting the light and temperature recently to encourage breeding. After cutting a few hours off the light time and letting the temp drop a few degrees over winter, last week I added an extra hour back to the lights that with the warmer week allowed the tank to stay a couple of degrees warmer. this seems to have done the trick as I now have a happy berried female. now to wait out the gestation with macros it seems to take 35-45 days so it will be a long wait. the proud father

Hi @revolutionhope, It is 60x30x40cm, about a standard 2ft. :) Today is the 6th day its been installed and still quiet when sitting infront of the tank having a beer ;) Put your ear right up to it and you'll notice the humming is a bit more distinct compared to day 1. The only sound you can really hear are the bubbles though. :D

Magnetic ones are ok to use, I find you need to go over the glass multiple times to get stubborn algae. This one I linked with a blade is pretty much a one pass cleaner. No going back and forth, creating massive disturbances in the tank. I can run a siphon hose behind the blade as I clean the glass and suck out the loosened algae, and perform a water change at the same time.

Here's my 2c (using Australian terms) sounds like you guys pretty much got it but I can add a little more detail. Chocs -> blue diamonds (I have it on good authority that these are all but impossible to stabilise and will continue to throw an unacceptable % of browns and maybe blacks) Carbon rili -> blue dreams -> blue topaz (with this line it is quite hard to breed the carbon out but not as difficult as the above example - I'm dealing with this dilemma myself) Red rili -> superman/spiderman -> blue velvet (probably the most stable example of a blue neo to the best of my knowledge but also the least intense blue). I understand that the similar heritage is why my mixed up colony of red rilis and blues and spiderman (from which I picked out the red rilis for you) have never thrown anything fully resembling a wild type neo and at worst I've only seen very low grade rcs come out of it. Also NB there are some blues getting around that come from a line which someone mixed up the blue from carbon and blue from red rilis and I know a breeder who came upon these and the progeny was most unsatisfactory.
