Hey hey hey, Hows things everyone? Ive been getting right back into shrimp in a major way now, Had a few days spare so I got around to re-sealing an old tank I had laying around and building a quick stand for it. This is being setup as a shrimp/ low tech planted mostly somewhere for all my anubias to live I have some rather large varieties now, just some lava rock as the main hardscape, then course white sand, lots of ferns etc. standard aquaone heater, and the filter I'm running is an aquaone 1050 series ii. It's quite new I got it on the cheap ages ago and it's sat there lol. The tank was already drilled through the bottom panel from an older project, so I decided to run a closed plumbing system which seems to have stopped the notorious dead spots you sometimes get in tanks bigger then 4ft. And it's working great with only a relatively small filter. Probably Going to end up being for my chameleons and or something else. Loving life right now, even though I didn't sleep and it's water change day today haha peace ✌️

Wow i really like that variegated anubius. That is a clean looking tank set up. Pretty big for a shrimp only setup so how about some micro fish also?

A 3% hydrogen Peroxide dose might do the job for you. Give it a test on a small area first so you dont damage the moss. I have used a 6% dose on some java moss in my tank and the moss was not affected by it but i didnt care about the java as i actually want it gone.

@ineke has given some great advice here. If you're just after a male or two and in australia I may be able to help you out. [emoji173][emoji111][emoji445] will

It is a problem when introducing new shrimp so there are a few precautions you can take . you can have an isolation tank where you keep the shrimp for a week or two to make sure none are sick. It doesn't need to be an elaborate tank just somewhere with a filter or airstone and heater. When you have finished acclimatising your shrimp you shouldn't put the water into your tank rather net the shrimp out of the container and put them into the tank without any of their water. Buy shrimp from a reputable breeder - not someone who buys and sells constantly . If they are buying from multiple people then there is more chance of their tanks having unwanted bacteria. Also don't buy shrimp from multiple breeders all at once as again you might add unwanted problems. i have only bought shrimp from a few other breeders over the years - just when I wanted different varieties or a good quality male to add better genes to my colonies. So far I have never had any issues with introducing disease into my tanks. Good luck
