I'm not sure if micronecton powder is the right product for remineralising rain water. Can you test TDS after adding the powder to see if the powder raises TDS?

I would also highly recommend getting a GH/KH test kit so you can determine if GH/KH was an issue.

The other hardiest cherry variant@nogi forgot to mention is the light blue type (often called blue velvet in oz although worldwide they are more commonly known as just blue cherries I believe). Not to be mistaken with blue dreams - these can be a little more fragile than the other ones mentioned. [emoji173] [emoji111] Will

Hi@daimen So sorry to hear :-( Your temp and tds is ok. Its better to keep the temp at 22-24 if possible though. However short periods upwards of 25 may be ok depending on the genetics of the shrimp and how fragile the line is. However a pH much above 7 will slowly kill off softwater caridina shrimps I'm afraid. If nothing else then that would explain the losses. [emoji173] [emoji111] Will

Can't go wrong with cherry shrimp (red, orange and choc). Other cherry variants can be a little more stubborn. Some of the natives including DRS and DAS are good for beginners too.
