Bit of an update as it has been almost a month. All of the shrimp are doing well in a Betta tank we had spare. I have been slowly bringing the TDS down so they can be introduced to the pond by adding some rain water every few days. At about 180ppm now but the pond has gone down to 70ppm so i still have a bit to go. Got some photo's this morning of these big eyed shrimp. Colour is a bit off as the water is tanin soaked but i love the gold fleck in these.

The filter cost around $38 each landed. I sent 6 filters via Auspost to Victoria for around $28. It would cost less to ship 1 filter... say $15 for a 3kg express post bag. So group buy is quite a lot cheaper. The other buyers either picked up from me locally in Brisbane or I delivered them. @Disciple had international hand carried courier all the way to Singapore. Haha.

Can you find the eggs? If you're desperate, you can try to find them and hatch them yourself. One of my girls seems bent on molting early and dropping about half her eggs with 1-3 days to go. But since she just molts and leaves the eggs behind on her old shell, it's easy to fetch the whole thing out and try to hatch them. The last time she did this (about a week ago), she left behind 16 dark eggs - at least some of which have turned out to be Bluebolts. Or you can just wait for them to try again.

I was inspired to try Hydrocotle after staring at your pictures... LOVE it. I'm so tempted to start tearing out the other ground cover to give it more space. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Biospon seems to be working well for me :) Yeah the suction cup came off the tank one time for me, but I was 90% sure that was because I accidentally yanked the airline tube. I put one of them in a tank as an emergency filter, and I replaced some of the media it comes with with some cycled matrix media from another tank - it worked really well and I had no issues. So I like that you can do that. The magnetically-detachable sponge/media housing is great for ease of cleaning.

I have the same issue with the suction cups but it usually happens after the discus had a tiff and got a bit boisterous so I thought they must have knocked it off.

So i couldn't help buy bid on an auction for 100 stems and i won. So i loaded the animals in to the ark and so began the flood! new additions to plants are Eriocaulon lividum, Syngonanthus sp 'Belem', Tonina fluviatilis and 2 others i still need to double check but i think Rotala sp "Green" and Mayaca fluviatilis. Im cranking that CO2 to try and get them kicked off, the hair grass is taking its sweet time to carpet and the clover is making heaps ground so i guess it will be my carpet? Shoulda just got 2 pots of it and left the hair grass out haha ?? lol ill keep posting even if they all melt and it goes to poo so stay tuned! In a month or so ill add some live stock when im 100% sure the tanks eco system has established.
