I have been messing around with Youtube and have my own channel. I actually watched one of my videos and realised I needed to do a bit of editing so people dont hear the random background noise. I hope you enjoy my first attempt at making the video's more enjoyable. Let me know what you guys think and what I can add to improve it. Also feel free to subscribe to my channel too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qwaai2M5D0

Even as 'culls" I am quite taken by your Rilis, just a shame I think I lost all mine, but I think I have some more random rilis starting to show up again. One day I might get into rilis again, at least I know they handle the heat up hear unlike the crystals.

To get really good rilis you must cull hard but don't cull too young. I waited until they were at least 3-4 months old unless they didn't have any clear section then they were culled quite young. In a tank of 50 juvies I might end up with 3-4 reasonable shrimp. It paid off in the long run as some of my Rilis were beautifully marked. Here are a few but only one I classed as good . Even the heavily berried girl was classed as a cull. The first one is one of my favourites, the others you can see spots on so again culls, the last picture - sorry about the quality shows some babies that are all red even from a fairly good colony. These all red babies were culled by 7 weeks- before the boys started chasing the girls. I loved my Rilis

Have you tried moving the "crap bubble" outlet further under water? At the moment it looks like it is too far above the water line.

Are the sponges made of the same material ?

Thanks Albash - as I said I don't know how the pure Tigers will go but Jamie - Newbreed - is having success at the lower ph. My substrate does too good a job at buffering my ph too despite now only having a couple of centimetres of substrate. I have added some Bakki balls - just a filtration ball- into the tank as I had an experience with them in a HOB. They raised the PH to 7.5 in 3 days but it was in my TB tank which I didn't want. I will be testing the ph tomorrow to see if it has had any effect on the ph. I won't use ph up or any other chemicals as I want a stable ph not a rise and fall environment . here are a few pictures of the only Taitibees that seem to breed true. I haven't worked on them these just seem to turn up in most batches of babies . I couldn't get the blue faced girl to show her face. the variety needs work but could be quite nice .

the only difference with the 2filters i can see is the output tube. The big bubble output tube are the straight up dwn. And the sml bubble output tube has a 90* like hose ; maybe thats the prob. firstly swap the 2airfitting hose &see if reasult caused followed after u changed or the filter it self is the prob. Eliminate what is/is not the caused. Suggestion- sorry if its stupid? What do u think of this.. Placing some filter wool(black colour so not noticeable)above the tube to help stop/eliminate the water bubble from spitting. That might help with any noise caused from the bubble poping. Will be an eye sore, if ur a perfectionist. Or try shoving a thin little peice of filter wool in the tube to help slow the water, creating a light barrier might help stop water bubble fr spitting.. let me knw if any of thoes ideas worked for u.. cheers

When my tank was running i had 3 dual sponges running off the one pump differing lengths of tubing but didnt have your issue. Have to tried giving the sponges a squeeze undrr the water incase its blocked could be resulting in the smaller bubbles. Just about tonlook at that link I just looked and i think your splitter could be the main issue. From briefly looking at the photo would inbe correct in saying the air is entering on one end then travelling along and out each one? If this is the case u will find the first splitter gets more air. The splitter input on mine was directly in the centre like a T piece which provided a more even output flow

Not better just different. The low PH seems to bring out the colours

Hi Ineke, The same can be argued for plastics: all the cheap suction cups that turn white and lose flexibility over time? : those are the plasticisers leaching out into your water ( BPA, BPB, BPE, BPK etc). Almost everything is manufactured in China and when people do not want to pay for things and get it for cheap, corners have to be cut somewhere, so it's a catch-22. The best advice I found online ( forgot where) is to put whatever plastic you are putting into your tank in hot water first. Then smell it. If it smells heavily of plastic, the plastic is cheaply made and unstable and will definitely be leaching something into your tank...
