I have been trailing this product for about 8 months now: Ingredients: Lactic acid bacteria, crustaceans calcium, reduced maltose, mulberry powder, yeast I cannot argue with the fact that it increases my berried ratio among females after feeding. I sceptically attributed it to the protein component only initially, but trialling one tank on protein- high Ebita Breed Hinomaro bentou and another tank on B18, I still find B18 has a more pronounced effect on fertility. Whether it is potentially the Lactic Acid Bacteria strain used, the highly absorbable form of calcium used, the digestability of the yeast protein or a combination of all above, it appears to work. Dosage: Once a week, small amount. Highlights: - very little is used, so it lasts a long time as it is very concentrated. - the shrimp are attracted to the food supplement when put in the tank. - it completely breaks apart into a fine particle mush so that all shrimp can have a bite of the small portion dosed - it indeed does increase berried rate Concerns: - not available for purchase in Australia yet. Available in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong. - possible water contamination potential if too much is dosed in nano tank. ????/5 Shrimp Tails

My shrimp like black worms more than blood worm or tubifex, but the annoying thing is that the dried worms float. I have recently bought Australian Black worm Sinking Pellets. I use this as a meaty protein supplement and have rated it as such. It is not a complete holistic shrimp food and it isn't marketed as such either. Highlights: sinks immediately relatively unadulterated product shrimp love them and feed on it immediately ( I am assuming that they love the taste as they eat at it for a while and they do not lose interest or toss it away). Shrimp taste- test panel: Tiger, CRS, TB, Natives, various Neos. the pellets are the perfect size for shrimp: a young adult shrimp is capable of holding a pellet. Low wastage. it is extremely affordable I cannot fault this product at all. Rating as a protein/meaty supplement: ?????/5 Shrimp Tails View full article

Ok here goes, for my new tank project I plan to cut down on existing tanks and breeding racks by combining a rack into the sump. I've got a 1500x600x600 planted display tank to filter ,heat/cool & look pretty by removing unnecessary system components like heaters etc by putting them away under the cabinet. Rack will be for shrimp breeding, namely CRS,CBS and TB varieties and CPD spawning. I've already got a 1500L x360d x40h tank divided by glass into 5 equal 300mm sections with stainless steel mesh flow through ports so the tank could run off one single filter system. My idea is to turn bays 1 & 5 into the inlet/media/filter & return pump/heater sections, and then divide the 3 remaining bays in half (150mm wide) with removable Perspex dividers with stainless mesh flow through ports. These dividers will sit about 20mm into an aqua soil substrate so water will also be able to flow under them through soil. There will also be a eheim 2217 looping in and out of the sump to run a chiller through so I get the extra filtration of that too. Sump will have a drilled emergency drain that goes under house out to garden. I would also like to have an R/O ATO incorporated somehow. Here are some sketches, please excuse the roughness. excuse 380 dimension, should read 360mm Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
