After @Disciple very kindly recommended a protein feed for my little guys every now and then, I went to the frozen fish food section and all the bloodworm products were from China ( sorry, I am still recovering from the melamine milk and dogfood scandal), I wanted to buy an Aussie product for my shrimp, so I settled for Cichlid food containing everything from shrimp, fish, octopus, garlic, spinach, spirulina and I didn't know what Wombaroo was, but it sounded delicious ( really didn't want to google in Petbarn, it's a marsupial milk replacer for those that are interested). I have 7 ottos in my 240 litre tank and 5 Ottos in my 130 litre tank that are well- fed. When I put the smallest piece of the new meaty goodness in, the ottos went nuts and hogged it all. I had to mash a little but up for the shrimp that wanted some. The ottos sucked that Cichlid meat food until there was nothing but a few sinewy bits left...so my question is, how do we really know that they are 100% shrimp-safe?

First photo is too difficult to tell, the shrimp is too far away. 2nd photo looks like an Amano shrimp to me. 3rd photo looks like a Caridina Typus, possibly. Not sure. Do you get C. Typus in your country?

Looks like it's settled and I'll set up an Eden! Thanks guys, I reckon you've likely saved me a lot of frustration!

I use the Eden external filters. I can highly recommend them.

In your Blue Velvet example - if you were confident in the genes of each colony then i couldn't see a problem, however you would need to keep them as separate group and observe over a few Generations just in case you see less than desirable offspring. however if it was newly bought nice shrimp i would take more care. you may get the nicest out of a batch, but the genetics in there may have less than desirable traits, which you wouldn't know until some breeding time has passed.

This is a core app and development on it will depend on what the forum software company wants to do. Don't have as much influence as we do with the other developers in this space. What I do know is that at some stage, they are rewriting the chat app so hopefully we will see some improvements then. I'll leave this open until I have more information.

I use pro z for my 4 ft and 1.5 ft and Hagen GLO (T5 tubes) for my 2ft. I'm actually in the market for another light for my 4 ft so I'm very keen to see what other members have!

I reckon it's a cherry - I have a cherry that looks really similar except the colouring is browny-blue rather than reddish. It was an odd one amongst a group of yellows that breed mostly true. It's in a separate tank with some culls for company and it's growing pretty big and is very active - actually seems more robust than its true-coloured yellow brethren.
