All coming along nicely. I've added some seasoned material and half a dozen red ramshorn snails, and a treatment of "Aquasonic Bio Culture", which is said to be a cycling bacteria additive that actually works. Time will tell, I'm watching/testing carefully. Plants are responding very strongly to 6 hours a day of light, set on timer. Water is much clearer now, but certainly not finished and highly aerated with both an airstone and the filter box out let. I dropped the level to about 6cm from the cover edge to allow the light to fully reach the surface for the frogbit (which is taking off). If I wasn't having floating plants it would be fine filled right up. Camera didn't quite focus properly, I'll play with the settings more next time.

here are the blue jelly: 2 of the 4 females are berried. I can see the black dots in the eggs, so it won't be long before I have shrimplets again ^^

Did my painting today with difficult to obtain and ludicrously expensive Krylon Fusion in satin black. Quite happy with the results, but being a second hand tank some imperfections in the glass show up and I wish I'd thought of painting the suction pipe before I glued it in permanently. Still very nice, and with the dark grey iron sand I feel sure that the lighting will work well and make the colors of the driftwood/plants/shrimp pop.

Got some. Paid through the nose, but better than dead shrimp. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/191786375801?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Any plant suggestions?

Just to update this, looks like using at half dosage was OK. Haven't seen anyone do full dosage yet.

µs = slack shorthand for µS/cm which is the units for Electrical Conductivity (EC). The most common conversion from EC to TDS in salty solutions is TDS = 0.5 * EC, so in this case 250-270 EC = 125-135 TDS (in ppm) Great looking snails!

@BRISSY and @Mark49, you guys should pool your resources together and write an article on keeping Sulawesi. Water parameters, food, etc. Whatever you know about this species. This would be a great contribution to not only SKF but the community as a whole.
