What a difference even a month has made on this tank! Got some of @Gbang's Bloody Marys and some low grade PRL from @Disciple. I'm blown away by the quality of both lots and can't wait to see how it goes. Thanks again to @Disciple for all his assistance!

Are you planning on keeping colours seperated? Are they already breeding true? To have a higher chance of Shadow Panda you can add BB to the mix. Up until the last year or so all the TB colour types were kept together but now people are keeping them separate to get them to breed true to colour. Depending on what you are looking for first cull out any male Mischlings. Then put male Tb spares in with the female mischlings which then give you your TBM. You will start getting Tb colours in your Mischling tank which you can breed back to each other or to a TB to increase your TB numbers. These TBm( TB from MIschling) and TBMM (TB from TBM to TBM) should be kept separate from your pure line TB for several generations until you are getting all Tb patterns. Depending on the F number of your Mischlings this could happen quickly or may take several generations. I have F10 Mischlings that bred to each other gave me only TBMM . With the pure lines you could keep colours separate or to start with let them breed to get your numbers up then take out the various colours and then start to breed them for a true colour line. These are my TBM/Taitibee line that came from my mischlings -after 2 generations of being kept seperate they are now breeding 99% true- I very occassionally get a Panda or KK from the RR/WR tank and a snow white from the BB tank . The pandas and KK breed true 100%. However I have chosen not to mix these with my pure strain of TB -there are fewer and fewre pure Tb around they all seem to have pinto gene so where possible breeders should try to keep a tank with just pure TB in my opinion.

Hey SKF peeps, I would like to show around a teaser of my new setup. I'm only 6 months into the shrimps scene and I seem to be taking off. I only keep PRL and CRS currently and am looking to expand into HIGH GRADE breeding. I will leave this here as a teaser. This setup only needs a few more pieces, some spit and polish and then I can flood it. Very soon I plan to become more active on this forum and also create journals on my experience. Happy shrimping.

Colony has dropped off in numbers over the hot summer, probably the oldest wild caught originals dying off. Still no breeding even after feeding high protein foods. I'm convinced it is simply because they are too hot. Temps in the wild range rarely get above 22 and my tanks have been reaching 25-26 (and probably higher) regularly. I'm hoping cooling temps into Autumn will get them breeding again. I plan on getting a heater/chiller to keep them at consistent temps but that expensive item is down the list of other items that I need to get. The change in TDS down to 20 has been the best thing I've done with these guys. Their colour has been consistently good ever since I did the change, no washed out colours.

Finally! I've harvested them to a coffee jar and have started raising the salinity by adding 20ppt salty green water.

After a big re-scape, it's done. Slowly growing in. Got some of @ineke's Taitibees and they are doing really well! Can't wait to see how this tank goes. After taking out all the Seiryu rock, the ph has dropped from an astounding 8.5 to 6.9. Slowly decreasing with IAL etc. so I don't shock the shrimp :) Big thanks to @Disciple for all his assistance!

If they don't breed true possibly descendants of the choc. My old chocs threw similar blues.

Update on section 1. Blue Dreams and PRL. I have Not taken many pictures of my Cherries and focused on my other shrimp so this time I wanted to share more cherry pics.

The tank looks totally different. It seems like you are headed in the right direction. I cant wait till the moss grows and spreads on the drift wood. It will look awesome.

It looks awesome. Those shrimp are gorgeous and I'm excited to see how the vibe deepens as the plant growth continues ?

Thanks ineke for the info. That was a very nice break down and easy to get my head around. I think I'll try to keep the pandas true for now and let the others mix. Once I have a few More of them then I'll experiment crossing a panda female with the others.

Get some Sulawesi, which were passed in at auction, and you won't have this problem again Just saying. If you are going to spend $400 on a chiller for one tank, that similar amount could have got you 10x sulawesi shrimps. Sulas like their temps 28deg C + Food for thought.

I have some new plants - chain swords, crypts and amazon swords. Fully planted now - I don't think I want to add too much more. I would rather watch it grow and develop. I go on a holiday in a week for 3 weeks, and when I return I will be adding 10 neons and 3 Oto :) New light from MML ordered too which should arrive in the next few days.

Update time! I'm so excited with the way things are progressing. First mumma dropped her babies...they're so cute!!! Another 4 berried and ready to drop soon. See photos for progress. Added some monte carlo on the DW and some Thor Hammer also.

2 years ago after buying my first batch of carbon rillis from Dean Peltier I had a mutation where almost all of the dark blue was gone (picture 1) After 3 to 4 generations I ended up with some cherries that were extremely translucent blue (picture 2) and I worked on massively culling the light ones and line breeding the bluest full bodied shrimp. After two solid years I have achieved line breeding what overseas breeders call the blue dream cherry and they breed true. Although they do throw the odd carbon rilli still :p Hopefully in a years time I will have enough for everyone to enjoy what I think are one of the bluest cherries in the world. Enjoy
