Agree that smaller fish have character. I get why people love discus etc, but I prefer big tank, small fish and let them roam and dart around. Each to their own though, of course... lets be honest, every tank is pretty awesome :) The dream for me is a 6 ft tank with 4 schools of nano/tetras being white clouds, cardinals, dwarf rasboras and brigittae - about 40 fish all up and some shrimp. One day.... one day....

Hi All, Its been long posted any image in the forum, so here are some of my CRS/CBS images. Have been bugged badly by shrimp bug and put up multiple tanks. Currently having 7 CRS tank running. One 60*18*18 with all mixed grade. One 24*12*12 with all mixed grade. One 30*18*18 currentlty cycling will house mixed grade. One 30*18*18 housing PRL higher grade. One 30*18*18 housing PBL higher grade. One 30*18*18 hosing starting grade PBL. One 24*12*12 housing medium grade hinomaru and mosura. A mix grade CRS mommy. Clicking the mix grade is a pain, as the tanks are full with green algae and cant clean it as babies feed on it. A starting grade Taiwan PBL A 2 week old kid on powdered food A Mosura Shrimp A Hinomaru Shrimp, as I have very few female of Hinomaru so not culling her. Will see how the babies turn up. The males are good so finger crossed. One more Hinomaru Do share your thoughts, comments Will update this thread periodically.

It looks like gold vine , I found it secreted or got covered in a white slime when first put into a tank but the slime is harmless to shrimp. Mine cleared up within a month - I had boiled and soaked it before putting it in the tank and had been assured it was shrimp safe. I never had any issues with the shrimp. - some seemed to graze on the slime. The vines are 3 years old now and still very good.

Have you ever read "The Hungry Little Caterpilla" ?

I blanched some leaves this morning and popped them in to the tanks. Boom - shrimp all over them!

I thought the Maculata were smaller but could be wrong. I had a hard time trying to find some brigittae

I never gravel vac, mainly because I believe the stuff in the gravel is beneficial for plants etc. It's like free mulch. Personally I find less touching the tank the better. Maybe leave it for a few days and see how it goes? What do you feed? Have you got a photo of this cloudiness? A small water change and cut back on foods that break apart easy but hard to tell. Sometimes you just have to leave it be for a few days so it can settle. The other thing I noticed was that it occurred around about the time the weather started to heat up. What is the temp of tank? Warmer temps means bacteria grows faster. Post a photo if you can.

Hmmm, so for the last few days my water has been slightly cloudy...From what I understand, as my tank is fully cycled, it may be the first sign of an algae bloom? I do gravel vac each water change... would the best course of action to up water change % amount and/or frequency for a little while? From the forums experience, is there any other potential reason for this? I also did recently increase the water level in my tank so the water level is now above the hood, therefore closer to the led light. Could it also be light refraction?

I have three endlers in my tank with Cherries. I don't see them touching the larger ones but they would definitely eat shrimplets given the chance. Just depends whether you care if shrimplets go missing. I prefer rasbora maculata. While probably not 100% shrimp safe, they're tiny and less than likely to touch your shrimp. They look better in my opinion anyway.

Hi all, just wondering peoples experiences with guppies and shrimp? Do they pick off shrimplettes, or try to take on bigger ones? Been offered some and wondering whether a) they will be fine with my white clouds and RCD, b) whether my 3 ft tank is big enough for the 10 white clouds, 50 shrimp and 5-7 guppies, and c) I guess I will need a heater!

Should be OK. Check if you have some green hair algae spotting somewhere. Other than that it should be fine
