Looking at your Barney Springs shrimp fishmosy they look more like the Malanda shrimp with that pronounced hump in their carapace. Where as the Barney Springs Shrimp I collected never had such a hump, but they did seem to lack a rostrum. My original Barney Springs shrimp, but it appears to have almost no rostrum The other shrimp in question seems to be quite different again. I guess there could have been some cross breeding since they are all in the family caridina, and as they so eloquently put it in Jurassic Park - "Life will find a way" . I think I can safely rule her out as being Chameleon since she just doesn't seem slim enough in the body.

So this is a long weekend... So glad to have some time off. While most of you were drinking "just one more" or trying to stay away from sharp objects and/or the mother-in-law, I've been busy. I finished filling the coffin. No leaks. I drained the coffin, siphoning the water through an airline and using it to clean my play sand from Bunnings. I mocked up the return and overflow. Modified the overflow design. Trice. Added power to the stand. Made the overflow and inlet plumbing, only missing the very last piece as I'm waiting to have the sump in place to verify measurements. Also tested the overflow (it works). And built my sump... I'm missing a couple of important pieces, the first being a floor for the stand, a plywood sheet for the equipment to rest on. Should get it tomorrow. The other is a special piece of plastic that will delay the flooding, but would be well worth the wait. But I'm not saying more about this for now... :P

Definitely check your water parameters ad post them here. I've got yellows as well, and they are hardy but not as bulletproof as reds. Berried females but no shrimplets implies water parameter issues causing them to die when moulting.

OK little update. Last night I did a 25% water change and came back with these figures this morning:- 6.2 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 20-40 nitrates 1 kh 6 gh 180 tds From my eye the nitrate test colour has come down a bit, but obviously not enough for my liking. My next plan is to do another 25% water change tomorrow and then retest parameters about 6 hours later. I will restest nitrates tonight again and see if there has been any movement. There has been no deaths since, but interestingly enough the YCS in the tank are not moulting and it has been a long time since i have seen them moult, especially the berried females. @salvanost I have thought about a reset, but with a baby due any day now I don't really have the time to start again and devote too much time to it.
