µs = slack shorthand for µS/cm which is the units for Electrical Conductivity (EC). The most common conversion from EC to TDS in salty solutions is TDS = 0.5 * EC, so in this case 250-270 EC = 125-135 TDS (in ppm) Great looking snails!

Mineral powder can go under the substrate. These are all from our sponsored stores, and most will offer a 10% discount with a code. http://www.bossaquaria.com.au/mineral-powder-50g/ https://newbreedaquatics.com.au/shrimp-additives/boss-aquaria-powders/boss-mineral-powder-50g.html https://newbreedaquatics.com.au/shrimp-additives/benibachi-powders/benibachi-mineral-powder-50g-.html http://www.thetechden.com.au/Benibachi_Mineral_Powder_50g_p/mp50.htm I can't find any powdered bacteria at any of our sponsored sites. I'd recommend Mosura BT-9, if you can find it. If you can find someone who has a mature filter & tank and is willing to give you some dirty media and vacuum some gunk from their substrate along with a bit of the water ... this would give you a better kick start than any bottled bacteria you can buy.

Thanks mate @Abhishek you have missed one macro nutrient/mineral. Potassium! Apart from phosphorus and calcium, potassium (K) is the third most abundant mineral in shrimps. You can research the benefits of potassium for your blog. Another feedback for your article ... tell the reader where to get those macro and trace elements. Should I feed it ? Should I dose it? - in general, macro elements needs to be provided in food and dosed in to the water for absorption. Trace elements can be provided in food alone. Any article that tells us about the important nutrients for shrimps, but does not tell us where to find it is only half complete.

I think so. When used in a Salt Water Marine tank - use bleach. When used in a Freshwater tank - you can use bleach or strong saltwater. But bleach is more effective.

So.. I've been looking at this thing through a microscope. I can now conclude that it wasn't a parasite. It most of all resembled what looked like the tiniest popcorn shell... And no, I haven't fed my shrimps popcorn :P My best guess is that it was a mutation/deformity of the shrimp's shell. Perhaps because of an injury during molting or something else. Either way, the shrimp died but I haven't observed any other shrimps with this particular issue.

two ways to clean below the UGF. 1. is siphon from down the tube of UGF or 2. if u custom the tanks. Put a drainage valve below under the ugf. So when u do water change u do via the valve.
