School yard brawl standoff! Betta guarding the food from the shrimps. I can literally hear the shrimps go... "Give me food! Give me food!".

I didn't really like how high the water level was as it made the largest stone seem small, and I wanted it to dominate the aquarium, The red stones seem much more dominate in this shot.

Number #457 and #502 solves the riddle of why I blanked out two of the tanks http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2015/index1.html

Just a reminder to follow the entry details folks. This comp is just as much about learning to use the Gallery feature here on SKF as it is about capturing that great shot. Entries so far are great, keep them coming. I might get a photo in myself.

@BRISSY and @Mark49, you guys should pool your resources together and write an article on keeping Sulawesi. Water parameters, food, etc. Whatever you know about this species. This would be a great contribution to not only SKF but the community as a whole.

Have a look at the video a friend of mine made on how to set up a tank like this https://youtu.be/5VY74iTq4Yc

Sometime between setting the tank up again for the comp and taking the pictures for the comp, I swapped the filter from a Fluval 106/206 (can't remember) to an Eden 511. The Fluval just moved too much water and so I had to have the flow valve half closed all the time which put pressure on the pump and probably contributed to the pump being noisier than what it normally is. The other reason was that the Fluval was too big to sit beside the tank on the rack, meaning the Fluval took up extra space that could be used for more shrimp tanks :( I'm really happy with the 511 which I'm also now running on my zebra tank. Both have been faultless so far and they sit nicely behind the tanks, meaning more space for more tanks on my rack. To take pictures for the comp, I had to move both the Barney Springs and the zeb tank onto a temporary shelf as the rack just wouldn't work to get the lighting right over the tank. Whilst I was at it, I gave the glass a really good clean inside and out. Here the water was a bit murky after the move. Next night and the water was clear again. I took my photos for the comp at night to minimize any chance of reflections showing up on the front glass of the tank Then I started taking macro shots. I used a Nikon D5100 with Nikon 100 mm macro lens, tripod and two Pro Z LED lights (no camera flash obviously) to get my shots. The other tank shots were taken using the Nikon 40-75mm lens that came standard with the D5100.

Long time no post Been quite busy and been absent for a while. My bad! I realized I did not post photos of the custom tanks that I got made for the room. These are 4 900by400by28 tanks divided into 6. Each section is sealed, essentially a separate tank. These are my fry tanks. I have found they work great for me. Here is the tanks in use I also got 3 3foot tanks and a 55long tank made. These tanks have been very useful in raising large number of fish.

As a hobby, we need to re-establish the red Paratya back in the hobby. Some pics I've seen of them suggest they aren't even australiensis as the rostrum is the wrong shape. Maybe there are several red shrimp. The paratya I'm keeping have the tiger stripes on the back. Well at least they have them sometimes. The stripes disappeared when I added the shrimp to the tank nearly 12 months ago now. However they had the stripes again last week. I think it may be something to do with the warmer weather - getting ready for breeding time. I must go back to the creek to see if they are striped up too. They look fantastic when they are.
