Just an update with the prize, @perplex kindly donated his prize to another member @jayc as a thank you for his work on the forum. A deserving receiptient and an honourable donor. Loving the SKF love

no to all the above DONT FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE SPONSORS WHO MAKE THESE COMPS POSSIBLE, WITHOUT THEM YOU WOULDNT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY AT GETTING FREE GOODIES!
  3. OzShrimp
I have scooped them out of the water line and into a breeding box for selective breeding but as they say a watched kettle never boils and they never bred cause i was constantly watching and put them back in the tank lol

I would like to thank Perplex for his generosity and keeping that SKF spirit alive. He offered me his prize, which was completely out of the blue. Thanks again Perplex.

Hi All, I now have my 2nd tank up and running for 2.5 weeks. I did a major change in my 1st tank as I want to keep both tanks simple with same WPs. I always wanted to start a TWB colony but I was not ready. Fortunately, I met Disciple, who teaches me more about TWB on SKF so I am tempted to start my 1st TWB colony. Here the details: WPs: pH: 6.3 ~ 6.5 Ammonia, Nitrite & Nitrate: 0 TDS: 145 ~ 150 (RO with SaltyShrimp) Temp: 22oC Tank #1: Dimensions: 29x29x35 cm Substrate: Cal Aqua Black Earth Soil I found this substrate buffers very low pH (4.2 ~ 4.5) in my tanks so I leave very thin layer. pH stays between 6.3 ~ 6.5 now. Filters: Sponge filter and Eheim AquaCompact 40 Light: Up Aqua Z LED Plants/ Moss: African fern, Myriophyllum Matto., Peacock & US Fissiden Members: 11 CRS (from Disciple) Tank #2: Dimensions: 30x30x30 cm Substrate: As above Filters: Sponge filter and Ista Mini Canister filter Light: Up Aqua Z LED Plants/ Moss: African fern, Tripartita Japan, Mini Pelia, HC and Monte Carlo, Pogos. Helferi (from JacksonL) Members: 3 WR/RR & 5 Mischlings (from Disciple). I will see how they are going for the next couple weeks then probably add more TWB to the colony. Thanks for reading. Cheers

No crap mate, I have been sitting here for the last hour moving rocks around, unreal, I've gone from 5, to 3, to 5 again, to 7... man this is hard, hard with a limited number and variety of shaped rock.
  9. fishmosy
Have you tried putting the rocks so they all jut outward, or to left or right, instead of pointing to the centre? Might look crap but something worth mocking up.

u can untie him and let him out of your garage now :P
  11. 2OFUS
Looks good maybe try bringing them closer together in the centre of the tank
  12. jayc
It feels too spaced out. Try moving the stones closer.

IME, I find transferring them without netting them out above water to be less stressful, both for me and them. Haha. If it is an internal breeder box, I use a net and coax them into it. If it is an external box, I net them into a little cup underwater, lift up the cup, then place the whole cup into the breeder box (already filled with tank water) and let them out. Hope this makes sense.

Hi all. Thanks for the add. I have been trying to get on here forever & finally a member! Woohoo! We have cbs, crs, black, chocolate, & yellow cherries. Plus a tank of shrimp that I am unsure of lol. Have been keepers for about 2 years now, & 'accidentally' got into the hobby. When we did a trade with catfish, the guy felt weak because his ruler was obviously a lot different than ours, so he gave us a scoop of reds, starting the beginning of the addiction lol.

Hey there, rack 2.0 is coming along nicely. Two weeks cycling already begun. And many photos taken along the way. Just not quite where I want it to show, will consider starting new thread very soon.... Teasers...

Hahaha, wow, it still took me a while to find that even in the 2nd photo! Next time please can you use a less-hallucination-inducing rock as a background? :)

Hoping in the next month for some serious growth and colour now.
