I've always loved freshwater crayfish or yabbies since first catching them and keeping them in aquaria as a kid. Back then I thought the brown things crawling on them (called temnocephalans or flatworms) were parasites. I learnt in my teens that these are actually not parasites, but just use the yabbies as a place to live. Anyway I came across this article today that reminded me about these cool creatures. http://theconversation.com/flatworms-that-live-on-crayfish-are-adorable-in-their-own-right-20608 Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan of crays.

I put little holes in the returns to push air through, like a Venturi kind of thing. I’ve found that after doing this I can increase the flow and it doesn’t blast the aqua soil every were, it seems to slow it down. The only issue I have had is one of them likes to spit water, so I’ve had to put a little airline tap on it. the little aire hole give this effect on the return water when it enters the tank yeah thats duct tape, i didnt want to glue them so...yeahhhhh i have the air running around the room in a loop, i was told this would cause even preasure though the system. as you can see i have room for 2 extra tanks in this pic,the bottom is the same, i plumed them in from the start to save time later.

So my Rilis have settled in nicely! Burried female is still burried, her eggs look really golden and opache. Noticed one of the other females appears to be ready to carry if she isn't already. Lost quite a bit of sleep last night reading about the different species and sub strains. Once I have my Rili population increasing and I'm confident with my WP id like to see if I could obtain some blue tiger's to introduce. Already found an excuse to start planning another tank (after the nano) I really love the Snowball shrimp, they are my second favourite after the Blue Tigers at this stage and I can't keep them with my rilis because they are in the same sub species rite? First thing first though I'm looking forward to getting my rilis to the stage where I can start culling and improving their grade I love them! and they are on the fore front of my focus at this stage as they will be educating me to be a better shrimp keeper as in exchange I hopefully assist their community to expand and thrive.

Hi All, Posting images of some of the shrimps I have kept. Its very hard to get shrimps here and you can count how many shrimp keepers are there in our country Please ignore some of the bad image qualities Blue shrimp Orange Fire Red My own prl line - which due to my mistake only is now no more. They stopped breeding and are now no more with me. But again will try this time with CBS Cross of green and zebra babaulti Zebra Crs Yellow Indian Caridina white backed Shadow Panda in 2012. We got them in India at around 2012, hand carried. Have just joined job and these things were so costly that I had sleepless nights those times. Sold them off after some days Will be getting some soon Tiger shrimp Vampire Crab, built a paludrium for them. But lost interest after some days

Update for section 2. The chocolates are going well. They are breeding and looking good. The shrimplets are mixed grade so need to continue to cull. My blue bolts are doing well. Last update i had 2 females and one male. A couple of weeks ago one female gave birth to 8 shrimplets and all 8 were bb's. The female is now reberried then other is due very soon. I cant wait for this colony to take off. Fingers crossed they are breeding true.

Snail do have there uses, I just have to keep waging war on Ramshorns and MTS. Other snails that dont breed into plague proportions I have no issue with. Although I have never been over the moon about mystery or apple snails. Could this be the "pouch" I hear these snails raise their young in? Might have to look carefully but there seems to be pouch like structure on the side of the snail. Two gems A little ramshorn annoying the notopala
