So added some Boss Snow to the CRS tank tonight. Glad the new layout makes them easier to view. Below is a half hour after it snowed!! I love this tank!

I've been adding ae bacter to these tanks to get some biofilm happening and it's really doing the trick! Iv also started to move some plants over, this is about as crowded as id like this tanks to get, I want them to be as bare bones as possible. I also tested the water and it was basically what I expected from Amazonia soil, high ammonia! 2ppmish

So had to give the CRS jungle a tidy up today. They have stopped breeding over winter, hopefully they get busy again soon!! Lol really happy with how they're developing! did have a spate of mystery deaths, first time in eighteen months, so was shocked. Have done the usual water changes, mineral powder, beta-g, IAL and alder cones to arrest it! All seems stable now thankfully!! mainly older ones popping off so may also be the colony has reached its limits!

So finally some progress, green elements lights from age of aquariums! I need to lift the top tanks light up some how but the bottom tanks look great with the light mounted to the rack.

Now for most of us as Sunday slowly ticks away and the work week begins anew, we all feel a little depressed to leave our lovely shrimp. This depression is most commonly known as the DREADED Monday Blues! Luckily the cure is quite simple! BLUE SHRIMP! To help people survive the Monday Blues I wanted to make this thread. Please add pictures of any blue shrimp you have to help cure the Monday blues (yeah I know I create this thread a bit late. You got me! its just an excuse to see what blue shrimp people got) This is my contribution

Hello SKFers, I am in the process of organising mini interviews with some of the very best shrimp keepers around these parts. I have been luck enough to get our own SKF members @newbreed and @Gbang to be the first two interviewees. So this is your chance to ask these legendary shrimp keepers what you would like to know about them. So in the comments below add one question to either Newbreed or Gbang. Each question needs to be on a separate comment and needs to be address to either one of the above. If you like a particular question please like it. The top 10 questions based on the likes will be used for the interview. I will be asking other shrimp keepers for their permission to do an interview also but if you have certain people in mind or if you would like to be interviewed in this manner please pm me.

A massive thanks to fishmosy for the amazing Riffles and Native Fern that I won at auction. I have never had riffles previously and am stunned by how big they are and also the variation in colour (there is a blue one) Many thanks Ben, I am sure you sent me far more than what was advertised!! Greatly appreciate it! They have only gone into tank today, so pics once they settle in! ?

Looking good. Cycling a tank requires so much patient. I would be so tempted to have some cherries in there... haha. Nice look mini pellia too. I'll have to source out some when my tank is up and running.

Dry start will be much easier and quicker, no need for CO2 without water, no algae issues, can leave lights on for 12+ hours. Only equipment you need is the tank, a light (or with a little 10L tank you could just take it outside and use the sun), some glad wrap and maybe a hygrometer to check the humidity in the tank.

It depends who you talk to but some say trimming them promotes growth? I was going to dry start my little tank but I got bored so flooded it haha I'll be updating it regularly so you can see how my tank goes.

Hi all, Found out about this forum from a member here, seems like a great forum. I just started getting into shrimp and after much research I finally purchased my first set of cherries. So far so good, fingers crossed. Look forward to learning and interacting with fellow hobbyists.

I've been slowly bringing the TDS up from around 40 up to around 90 ppm so that i can keep them in my local tap water. So far so good. I've just set up a three foot tank for them and the nerites, and the big Stenomelania cf. aspirans (big cone snails) will go in there as well. The water is currently a bit dirty so I will post some shots when it clears. Pretty sure I spotted a berried female confusa yesterday but didn't have time to snap a pic as I'm away from home this weekend. I had been hoping they would berry up soon as I've been watching several females growing large saddles. I'll try to grab pics when I get home.
