Thank you all for the kind words. I decided to use 9mm thick MDF for the exterior of the rack. There would be a couple of openings at the top of the rack to allow moisture/heat to escape so hopefully the MDF would not warp over time. Coupled with an undercoat and a few layers of paint, I hope the MDF would be well and truly sealed. Cutting up the MDF boards to size. Fitting them on. Couldn't find the type of hinges I wanted so thought I'll give these ones a go. I am thinking of having some aluminium trimmings on the edges as well. Oh well, I'll decide on them after the painting is done. Not only am I gifted in rack building, I am also highly skilled in producing complex engineering drawings that were meticulously drawn to scale. Armed with these drawings, I went to the tank builder who has no issue whatsoever understanding these immensely technical but high quality drawings. He got to work right away.

I have recently rescaped my two footer which i started this wonderful hobby with almost a year ago. It started as a iwagumi scape with shrimp but quickly became a shrimp tank lol. Due to this I decide to redo the tank over the last couple of months. Currently i have my Oebt colony, blue gene red rili culls and some chamleons. I will be dropping and posting the last of the rili's this weekend and bringing home some additional chamleon. Shout-outs to @Ronskitz for this awesome driftwood. @OzShrimp for some of the nice plants. @newbreed for the moss ledges really like them. I plan on adding a few more plants and mosses but pretty happy with it now. As always please feel free to give me pointers, advise and critique. Cheers.

One of my 4ft tanks has a thriving population of mostly peppered corydoras, some other types incuding false julii and Emerald as well as some Riffle shrimp, Borneo Suckers and Otocinclus, and some threadfin rainbows just to mix it up a bit. This tank only really has general tank maintenance done, which is usually just drops and tops almost NEVER plant trimming or removal. The fish seem to like the wild jungle and the peppered corys usually reward me with a few fry. I had been noticing some partly grown cory fry in the tank and was glad to see that the corys wheren't eating all their eggs, but tonight for the first time I spied a much smaller albino cory fry that seems to have taken up residence around the base of one of the Java ferns. The only albino cory I have my sister gave me, it is a long fin, but only its pecteral fins are long its dorsal fin is normal length. I do have some longfin normal peppered and both their dorsal and pecteral fins are super long. I had thought the albino my sister gave me was most likely an albino bronze, but it looks like I lucked out and its another peppered. So here is one of the proud parents of my little guy. and now the little CUTIE Because the tank is pretty wild its any bodies guess if there are any more little albino bubs getting about. Just goes to show you the surprises a wild tank can supply.

This stunner decided to show herself this evening close enough to the front of the tank to get a couple of nice shots. The tank is going great guns with heaps of native shrimp and now some more newly hatched spotted blue eye fry.

Nature isn't always neat and tidy - the wild look works well! My best shrimp breeding tank is a jungle - I don't like it but the shrimp do!

Well, maybe a bit more for 100L. 10ml should do it. Maybe less. H2O2 will super oxygenate the water, but don't use too much. UV is ok for bacteria and algae. And you can run it with the tank. BUT. It's not enough for the water from the creek. It's not going to kill parasites or their eggs. Boiling the water will sort out algae, bacteria, parasites and their eggs all in one go.

+1 Medication kills parasites but not their eggs. Boiling will kill both.

Hi everyone, I just stumbled upon your forum, and as a shrimper based in the United States, I am interested to see what everyone else in the world is doing with their shrimp. I hope to learn a lot from more experienced shrimpers that I can hopefully share with new and potential shrimpers currently following me on my YouTube channel. Thanks for having me! Sincerely, Christine

Thanks Squiggle This lovely shrimp decided to show itself last night while I had been busy photographing my Riffle shrimp. And her eating a Wardly Shrimp Pellet
  19. Baccus
That is correct. My chameleons are living in basically a NT tank with Blackmore River Shrimp, Darwin Red Nose and at least one or two Darwin Algea shrimp.
