Here is a video of my little shrimp room. Still work in progress, i have added 3 more tanks since then, fingers crossed i will have 2 full racks up and running by the end of the year.... Hope you enjoy

Had a minor technical difficulty but below are new photos for your enjoyment. Also, pardon my photos. I'm a bit rusty. There's going to be a slight learning curve as I slowly get back into taking photos. On a positive note, my JRB colony is slowly catching up to my JBB colony.

its time to enjoy the Original red cherry shrimp Fire.....red.....culls...... What i classify as high grade sakua. Yeah they are great but this is the thing. Fire reds require a lot of control and very selective line breeding. 1. If they were born from culls. They go to the cull tank. 2. If they are not full colours. They go to the cull tank 3. If i have no idea where they came from in terms of lineage of i wasnt in control from say....a crap mom. Even if she bred with a good male. They go to the cull tank Doesnt mean i dont use them for breeding. I have a cull line breeding tank too. As a plan c just in case! Will post more cool stories and photos over the weekend.

http://www.marksfish.me.uk/tips/peat-filtering That is the method is used for a few years to keep south american cichlids, works a treat. I use active substrate for the shrimps though as my shrimp tanks have a small volume of water ( 30-40 litres ) and the substrate keep things stable.

I think i'm finally there. Yesterday I did a 80% water change and added RO water with Salty Shrimp and added a Red Cherry Shrimp. I dropped the temperature down to 23 degrees. Added some IAL, some more minerals and left it alone for 24hrs. Today I did some water parameter tests and came up with the following:- 6.2 ph, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10 nitrates, 2kh, 4gh, TDS 130 (I am going to slowly raise this to 150). Anyway, things are on track and I am going to just monitor how the RCS goes in the tank for the next couple of days and may even add some more. The other good news is my BB is now berried to a male KK, so good timing on the tank.

They are one of my favourite fish. They are fantastic for small ponds or even water bowl type ponds. They are as tough as nails and when the males start to colour up they get a luminous light green stipe across the dorsal and anal finage. Good luck with them GC I am sure you will do well with them.
