First up the tank my Blackmores are living and breeding in, they share it with a couple of Darwin Red Nose, Chameleons, at least one Darwin Algea Shrimp, a growing school of spotted blue eyes and a few hundred snails. The log dominates the tank and all the shrimp take full advantage of the dark recesses of it. Most of the above pictures are of juvi or sub adult shrimp.

Here's one we don't get to see much of. I'm a stickler for the under tank photo's, I'm sure a lot of you are the same. I love to see how people have organised the chaos under the tank. So, lets have a look under the hood and share some photos of what makes the tank kick. Mine's rubbish but I'll kick us off!

This is a new addition I got on the weekend. Dont tell my wife. I hope he will help improve the future generations in section one. I had to twist the sellers arm into making him availiable unfortunately my photography equipment and skills do not do him justice. I also believe he is still acclimatizing to the new tank but very happy with the colour.

Maybe the fish think its feeding time and start nipping at all the shrimp whenever new shrimplets hatch?

I haven't mentioned my CBS much but I am having great success with them at the moment with many new babies and berried mamas in 3 of my 24" tanks. I started out with about 20 and have about 200 at the moment although some are mixed in with my Mischlings now. Excuse the quality of the pictures I just couldn't get them any clearer for some reason ( i'm just not a photographer I'm afraid) here is a skeleton golden

Hello Larry, My opinion is that you have progressed in the Cycle. I believe you will start seeing the Nitrites disappear next and the Nitrates will spike to above 80. You have to be careful with the Ada soil though, as it does continue to leach ammonia for quite a few weeks but it seem you are getting there.

Thanks Buck. You are too kind. I have been culling hard but there is still a way to go but I feel like I am getting there. Need those nice red legs to be more consistant. Also the % of shrimplets like the parents is too low for my liking. Lastly I want to get the blue body back but whenever it shows up its the red on the head is not what I want. So back to the lab again.

Yes that is how I fitted my glass dividers and the I placed strips of black bio foam under the gap.

No there was around three like this when they arrived from Dave and another 3 that are solid red/brown with a tan stripe down their backs. The solid coloured ones I am pretty sure are male since they are much slimmer in build while the mottled striped ones are chunky and more girl looking. I am hoping that when any babies are born they continue the patterns and dont all decide to look like the Blackmore shrimp which can be a bit duller. A solid coloured with tan stripe down its back And a couple of Blackmore River Shrimp The berried female is particuarly patterned.
