Today (while you were asleep overthere ) I've had a visit from Jay and his girl who are in Europe at this moment. It was very nice meeting them and so good to talk shrimp for a moment I've had some amazing gifts from them and as I always like to do, let's put it to the test! Of course I'm a little on his side now, but I try to be objective about it. First of all, the package is really nice and professional. Especially the idea of making the back transparent, so you can see what's in there is very smart! So I put it in one tank for example, were I just way overfeed them with Nettle the other day. Nevertheless, they attacked it like never before. That's a good sign to me. Most of the time the need to get use to new food is my experience, except when they really like it. You can see the other food in the back. So far so good, when I discover more I will update this post.

Hello all, I have previously posted pics of my experimental tank. I have since added a heater after deciding to utilise this tank again. It needed a good trim after being let run wild for a cpouple of years. Whilst it is certainly not aquascaped by any stretch of the imagination it is amazing the difference has done. The photos aren't the best but you will still see the difference. Picture 1 and 2 is what it looked like originally This is after the trim and a bit of replanting.

Given they are not in large numbers here you can be certain that someone from the appropriate dept would be keeping an eye on their sale. I'd be more inclined to get that import report finished off so that they can be legally imported and at affordable prices.

Do you think there might be enough interest in a seminar or workshop for forum members on the taxonomy and ecology of atyid or other shrimps or crustacean? I am happy to run these free of charge. Somewhere central like northern NSW or SEQld?

So we have 6/10 tanks with soil and water. 4 of those 6 have shrimp in them. Tomorrow's job will be get the final 4 drilled and fittings installed. Will mean by next weekend we can have shrimp in 8/10 tanks, put sump into place and start seeding the sump using the 2 empty tanks. Here's some happy snaps of some current shrimp

I have the versions here on my mac. V5 is the last one I have. If there is more work done by various contributors they have not been sent to me or if they have, I missed the email. If anyone wants to take over the collation and completing the final report let me know. It is very complicated and time consuming. The person who was going to help import it to Bay Fish no longer works there so we will need another contact within an importer approved premises. Once an importer has them on the list they may be imported regularly if they ever get through the quarantine process. I think the environmental one will be relatively simple compared to the quarantine aspects. Senator Nigel Scullion helped with Glossolepis incisus a few years back. They say Australia is open for business but there are forces at work in greenie, environmental, PETA, HSI, and other negative types that try to stop anything new and interesting. These forces are alive and active within the public service. Beware the precautionary principle, promote the proactionary principle. That tells us that humanity with cease to progress if we live by the precautionary principle. Dave

So I've finally got that last twelve bags of soil & put it in the tanks, now I just have to fill them with water. I've had the sponge filters cycling in the sump for the last few weeks so when I start the tanks up I can switch them in to system straight away, getting very exciting. :victorious:

Update time :encouragement: So I've just finished the plumbing for the rack, did the top shelf today & I'm so glad it's finally done. :victorious: Also, finally got a pic of some of the air system, enjoy! :congratulatory:
