Hi Well about 3 months into my journey with shrimp keeping I thought I would share some good and bad experiences as a newbie Firstly I have found ALL members that I have had contact with, fantastic and an asset to any forum. The content here is better than any books and if not found a member is only a PM away I still do not have a shrimp in my tank, but this will change soon As with most forums or clubs people come and go and a lot of members don't like wasting there knowledge with these. Sometimes extracting this information takes time I will not name the members that I have met and so generously shared their knowledge as not to embarise them. They know who they are! Thanks I really don't have any bad experiences so that is good I guess I have found it odd as I only want to get a couple of breeding trios to start with very difficult. I have never wanted any variety to start with other than the cherry. Never owning shrimp before I thought if I did something wrong to loose a few is better than loosing a lot I find it surprising that no one is interested in selling a few, it seems to be always 20 odd (or they don't want to wet their net). I suppose this may be the norm so I will accept the umpires decision I also found it odd that a member is prepared to feed their fish with their culls than sell a new member some? I have also found the forum sponsors very helpful and patient Just thought I would give this feedback Cheers Andy

Will be emailing ai tomorrow to confirm species names they currently have. Also, May make a new thread with each complex and photos of each species from people on here. I know it's a shrimp forum, but who doesn't love a good betta.

Just to add another variety not already pictured. These are some of the Betta gunung raja I picked up the other weekend. Boy Girl Together The images don't really do their colours justice. But something for reference.

I haven't mentioned my CBS much but I am having great success with them at the moment with many new babies and berried mamas in 3 of my 24" tanks. I started out with about 20 and have about 200 at the moment although some are mixed in with my Mischlings now. Excuse the quality of the pictures I just couldn't get them any clearer for some reason ( i'm just not a photographer I'm afraid) here is a skeleton golden

There were some shrimpkeepers in the area who were looking into it. I will ask if there's any updates.

I found these red shrimps and one blue in tank where I keep CRS and taiwan bees. Not really sure if there are belonged to cherry shrimp or taiwan or how they can land there. Please ID them guys so I can allocate them accordingly. Thanks.

If they aren't planaria just the very thin white ones then it doesn't work. If it is planaria I found the best thing was to mix the powder with water , use a syringe with a piece of airline on it and squirt the liquid into the gravel especially where you feed the most. That has worked for me several times.

Nice betta. It's so fierce looking. Gunung Raja (pronounced goo-nong ra-ja) translated is "Mountain King".

No problem Bob. Arranging the group buy wasn't hard, but managing payment and chasing people was tricky. The 75 unallocated bags are currently reserved for Serkan, if he wants it. But if I don't hear from him, or if he declines, then it's open for everyone else to purchase.
