So after 18mths & a number of different graphic designers, I have finally got the cherry shrimp family tree ready for peer review. I know there is a few additions to be added, like blue gene orange rili & green orange rili, any other suggestions will be gladly added.

Bob I have got mine through group buys which were brought in from USA manufacturer. Boss aquaria sells them - maybe speak to Jay as he would know more about costs for larger numbers. I looked into buying from USA myself but minimum purchase was for 100 and I didn't need that many.

Awesome colony! I miss my days of having one that size. I'm down to less than 25 adults now but my Crs are just starting up breeding again, so fingers crossed I get there again.

Thanks Jamie. There are some really good shrimp in there - the colour is very black and very white and I have to check the grading but think there might be SSS babies as well. I'm very happy with them.

LOL Shaun that would mean I NEED MORE TANKS ! I've got 3 tied up for Bettas now and I'm looking for a pair of Elephant Ears as well so might just have to sell some of those babies later -or not

I think you mean Snowballs & yeah they are Neocaridina Palmata & RCS are Neocaridina Davidi. Snow Whites are Caridina Longmani. Glad you're happy with shrimp dude.

One really pleasing thing for me has been over the last two weeks, there has been an appearance of blue shrimp amongst the horde. Poor photos, but you get the idea.

The following are random shots from the last 4 weeks. You can see the improvement in colouration of the shrimp over time as well as some of the shrimplets from the broods that have dropped. Look closely to see some shrimplets.

Thanks Ineke. They seem to be relatively easy to breed but getting nice colour seems to be a waiting game. I have a really nice shot regarding colour that I'll be uploading shortly that I'm sure will cause a bit of a stir.

Got 10 CRS today in the mail, a mixture of male and female, adult and juvi, absolutely stoked with them, they're in the tank and doing well. The fun begins!

So time for Jan/ Feb update. Lots of females berried over the last 4-6 weeks. Its been surprising to me at how small they are when they first start berrying up - approx half the adult female full grown size (which is roughly 3cm). I have had a couple of batches of shrimplets come through too, but survival has been low because the number of shrimp in the tank is quite high. Lots of mid sized shrimp. I want to grade and cull them but can't really decide which colour/pattern I want to go with yet. The colour has been getting better and better as they age. Mainly shades of red and brown, no really strong patterns other than the skunk stripe down the back. Have noticed a couple of them coloured blue, hopefully I can find the pics I took of them. Pics to follow.
