I have had 10 days in non breather bags. Heat is the one that will get them and the rough handling by AP. The major over looked thing is to starve them a couple of day before they are packed, I bang on about it all the time but it is a must when shipping any aquatic critter, why? it stops or cuts down the poop in the bags = safe shipping. Yeah I have seen some people talk about "preparing shrimp" to send, I presume they are starving them out so they dont crap heaps in transit like you said, I really need to get some breeding boxs for my new set up to keep shrimp im selling to to do this kind of stuff

Yeah I've had shrimp take about a week to arrive and be fine, in winter. At this time of year down here it's down to what happens to the bag. If it's left in a truck in the sun during the day, bad news. Good news is the next week in Melbourne looks pretty shrimp-friendly compared to the last few days. Good luck, Buck!

Awesome stuff dude, you definitely beat me to it, I've been working on a gel version of Crack that is along the same lines as the Repashy foods, mine has the same basic process but the green mix is way different, more aimed at trace elements & minerals than proteins, just keep an eye out for it soon.

Yep, I've seen more than two weeks in breather bags & surviving, a week should be fine, even double bagged.

I've heard of people receiving shrimp after a week, due to a similar kcuf up by Lost-ralia post. So hopefully they will still turn up ok.

I think I was looking at the same item when I did some shopping there just 2 days ago but couldn't quite budget for it and still didnt have any moss yet, I rly LOVE he techden. they're the first online shop I ordered fish equipment from a couple years ago and ive never used another store yet! john there has been very helpful whenever I had questions no matter how trivial. Unfortunately half of my exhaust system just fell off the bottom of my car in the last hour. ive strapped it back on but im gonna have to get it fixed as priority before I spend anything on aquascaping lol

Yeah they aren't dear either through The Tech Den, seen the same thing for more elsewhere, just cover them in Subwassertang, should look alright have 1 each side of the Peacock Moss pad, which I call The Grassy Knoll.

sounds sweet to me. im going to be doing something similar but with a few smallish rocks ariund here and there with moss on them too. going to be barebottom so I dont have a poo-storm when I move the tank ;-) (happened last time I had to move a goldfish aquarium with gravel to another location!)

It is much better now. ^^ Try to reduce the flash power to reduce the glaring and hot spot. After reducing it, you will need to open up the aperture by 1 to 1.5 full stop (reduce F number). Your DoF may gets narrower too. Hence, you may need to position the camera slightly farther back.

Okay so here is a small 20 litre tank I set up to house some chocolate cherries I got from Nogi's recent clean out. They are only here temporarily until I set up a larger tank for them. Tank : 20 litre splash slash tank? Back sprayed black Filtration: Hamburg matten filter set up with a small power head Heating : Aqua one 25 watt Lighting: Bunnings desk lamp with 20 watt cfl globe Substrate: mr Aqua shrimp Aquascape: random pieces of granite collected and Java moss. Fauna: chocolate cherries neocaridina davidi Pictures taken on iPad. Full tank shot One of the inhabitants

Anything that has an impeller like pumps, power heads, internal filters, or canister filters produce heat. Could be as much as 1 to 3 deg C depending on the size of the tank.

Ah too bad. Well, as you can see I don't keep secrets. At least not when it comes to the shrimp hobby. I believe in sharing the knowledge. But if anyone came up with an Agar food base for shrimps, you know where you saw it first Hi Tomrum. My initial reaction was 'no' to stevia. Then 2nd reaction was, hmm I don't know enough about stevia and artificial sweeteners use with shrimp/fish to be very sure that it's no good for them. After all, stevia is derived from plants, and it only tastes sweet but has no carbohyrates. There hasn't been enough experience and evidence with Stevia and shrimp for me to comment on. So the answer is, I don't know either. I can't think of any reason why it would not be ok, unlike Sugar. Definitely NO to sugar. You could try it out on culls, if you have a cull tank. But best not to test it out on expensive shrimp.

Hello Neo, Another option if you are thinking about mineral balls instead of MK Breed is the http://www.bossaquaria.com.au/boss-mineral-balls-10pack/

I might get a compact one and hide it behind some moss or something. I guess it's not a huge deal since it's not really a display tank [emoji12]
